Naltrexone prescription

I am starting a new prescription for alcoholism, called Naltexone, I was wondering if anyone had any success, and if you had any side affects? Please let me know if you have any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Hello! Although have met people prescribed naltrexone for drug addiction, haven’t known anyone using it for alcohol misuse. If members of AA are meeting in person now near you, that may be a good resource for you and the meetings may help with your depression issues as well. This RX hopefully means you have available health care for your other concerns in your earlier posts and your recovery from eye surgery for nearsightedness is improving so you are able to get out more. Congratulations on your determination and efforts to improve your depression by finally being able to have a psychiatrist visit which appears to also resulted in your RX for naltrexone. My hopes go with you in your continued efforts in dealing with your depression. 😄

bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/naltr... says it is an opiate and given to people with both previous drug and alcohol dependency but the side affects do not sound good. x
