Hi Im 40 years old and have struggled with depression and anxiety since I was a kid. I am now isolating myself from the world. My fears are taken over, Im truly miserable and unhappy. I just feel like giving up. I need a friend to talk to who understands what I'm going through.

I understand that what you are going through except my reason is I'm to depressed to leave the house I just prefer to be there then anywhere else
I dont leave my house either, I just feel so bad that i dont want to do anything. Depression and anxiety make you so miserable. I also dont have any energy or interest in doing anything.
You will make it you doctor is right it does take time for the meds to kick in but once they do you feel great until then just keep talking on here and get the support you need or want everyone is so caring I know you can do it and if you are ever out and feel anxious focus on something in the room and something that won't move and tap your chest in a nice slow motion it'll calm your heart right down and have you focus on something other than your anxiety

There is always a reason behind the anxiety. I could say that if you get away from your stressor you will find relief.
I have also had anxiety/panic since I was a child. I felt like I was the only one that felt that way and was always fearful. But now I know there is hope for our affliction. Many have had recovery and know there is hope. There are many support books, podcasts, groups, etc. We are never alone. I have some bad days at times still, but mostly I am at peace. Reach out for support if you can; it’s so important. Listen to The Anxious Truth with Drew. He has a lot of eye opening solutions to try. Practice mindfulness. The app Insight Timer is very helpful and calming. Use the tools that will help you understand that you don’t have to fear the fear. I wish you well and I’m here if you need to talk. 💕😊
