My son had an adverse reaction to taking anti depressants and was advised by the doctors at the hospital not to take them at all. He has used some natural products from the health food shops and researched foods which contain serotonin in the hope that increasing his serotonin levels will help. Your GP may be able to help you with a referral for counselling and you may like to discuss with him/her which natural products may help you.

The only thing my meds helped with were the daily headaches but other than that nothing. Now everyone is different but things that helped was a career change into a field that interested me and has a lot of opportunity. Having opportunity gives me something to look forward too. A majority of my sobriety is do to my wife and having her by my side! When things were really bad I read a lot did a lot of research on philosophy, spirituality, just different ideas and subjects that were vary foreign to me, I like investigating how different cultures present and past deal with these issues. We have to find something to fill the void and find something to look forward too. But honestly I’m still learning and adapting!

doctor"s". Have you tried many? I don't know how it works in UK but I find physician assistants that can prescribe much more empathic. These are people trained with limited MD certification but can prescribe. Often they come up as nurses who tend to have better bedside manners. What does intolerance mean? Do you mean you react badly or that they don't work for you? I have to say they all have side effects. I like to take the smallest dose and then do other things as part of my treatment plan. For instance talk therapy, diet changes (some foods affect your mood more than others), exercise. Those are data backed treatments.
