Planner?

I am a mom, college student and wife. Taking care of a household, children and school work is very overwhelming. The anxiety I get when I'm behind on laundry or or school work affects every aspect of my day. I bought a planner to help schedule better and hopefully help relieve some of the anxiety about time management. Has anyone has success with a planner and taking control to help suppress anxiety?

Hello! I struggle with time management (among anxiety and depression) as well. I also use a planner, BUT, I also got some motivational stickers to randomly place on pages. It helps some. One sticker says, "I am loved, I am enough, I am strong" another says, "Inhale the future, exhale the past" and another says, "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible." They just help me take a step back and breathe.Being a mom, a wife, full time employee and to having my mother in law move in with us in a few weeks has my anxiety on overload. The laundry and chores WILL get done, just not this minute. Sometimes we just have to take babysteps and know eventually, somehow, we get it accomplished. Yes, it might be after the 11th hour and we are on the edge, but we get it done.

Good luck to you and remember to just breathe. It all comes together somehow. 💜

Hello, Yes one of my family members had the experience. It may seem too good to be true, but planning has been scientifically proven to help prevent stress before it starts. The planner helps to relieve minds from anxiety. If you have a planner with you the best benefit is that You can stop remembering something a second time to write it down. You can stop and focus on the more important things. The good news is that we should not accept pressure as something beyond our control. In Fact, there is a simple and effective solution that can be reached to help manage stress while having a planner with you. But the thing is he/she must be an active person.

Dear Bpirgy08,

Yes I used a planner and it really helped. I just had to realize that I planned more for each day than could have been done in that day. So my planner ended up being a “running” planner. Then I learned that some things that I thought had to be done, didn’t really have to be done. So the planner helped me to face reality. I went to school while I homeschooled two boys and had a business. I had to set priorities and organize my time. I had to allow for interruptions and learn to determine which interruptions were acceptable and which weren’t. I had to develop meal plans and plan ahead meals. I had to teach my children to take responsibility for themselves and handle chores and tasks around the house. I had to help my husband see where he fit in the picture so that all of us could relax and enjoy some time together. The planner didn’t work for me like it does for some professionals but it definitely had its place and had value in my system. I am praying for you to find something that works for you and your family. We all have different needs and are unique. It is the love and attitude of one for all and all for one that drove our way of life. God bless you and your precious family. And I wish you well in your schooling.
