Should I switch antidepressants?

Ive been taking zoloft for 2 years and it was helping and I havent had panic attacks like I used to but Ive been feeling more depressed lately and I have been getting intrusive thoughts about suicide. These thoughts can be so intrusive that it can cause my anxiety to increase because the thoughts are repetitive and I don’t want to act on it. I’ve lost interest in most things and I’ve felt numb and burnt out. I feel like I will never be happy and suicide is always an option in my mind. It could be I am overworking myself and lonely from not finding friends who I fit in with. I take 25 mg of zoloft and at one point I increased it to 50 mg and it made me feel lethargic and sick which caused me to stop taking it altogether which caused an even worse outcome and now I am hesitant to get an increase or switch medications. My mother takes zoloft as well so should I trust zoloft will work for me too?

I can’t answer that question. You need to speak to your doctor and therapist. If this is sudden there could be something going on that needs to be addressed. It isn’t always chemical though they may help.

you should talk to your drs ..they might have to add another medication..and i think you can become immune to any meds after taking for a while..maybe a good time to switch
