I started antidepressants

whateverlovely248 profile image

So I’ve started 50mg of Zoloft and it’s really wild how much of a difference I feel. I feel like I finally have access to my brain again and like I have control of myself again. I was absolutely terrified at first but I’m really proud of myself for pushing through the fear and choosing to advocate for myself.

whateverlovely, I am proud of you too. We don't know what we can be missing

if we don't try medications. I know how scary it can be, but as you see the results

were well worth it. I'm happy for you. :) xx

I started Zoloft a few months ago too and, I agree, the difference is amazing. I was also scared of taking meds because in high school I was on Lexapro but it made me feel like a zombie. Fortunately with the Zoloft I haven't had too many negative side effects. I feel like my memory and concentration is much better, and sure the depression is still there, but it isn't so overwhelming, plus the everyday doom and gloom is gone. I'm so happy that the Zoloft is working for you and I hope you continue to feel better! Also glad that you advocated for yourself, it feels good doesn't it!

One of the mysterious side effects is that Zoloft raises the level of anxiety before it really kicks in. I started at 50mg, and after 2 weeks, my anxiety levels were through the roof.It was then raised to 100mg and it took 7 weeks for it to kick in . Don't be alarmed and discontinue it, stay the course and stick with it. You'll wake up one morning and you'll feel great. It's a lifesaver....

I am glad to here you are feeling better. The description of how you feel sounds wonderful. How long was it before you started feeling better on Zoloft? Did you have any side effects?

Honestly I felt better after like 3 days of starting. And I will say I’m noticing that I’m mainly a little anxious now but other than that I’ve had no side effects.
