I have been given Sertraline for my anxiety, has anyone been fine the first 2 weeks of taken this and suddenly it’s hit them? I thought I got off lightly, and the last 2 days of the 2 weeks has hit me, anxiety through the roof, heart rate going, sick, diarrhoea.. I don’t know if it’s just my anxiety flaring up itself or it’s the Sertraline making me feel this way?
I have also been taken it at around 11.30/12pm during the day and am thinking of changing to taken at night time instead to see if it helps. Has anyone taken at night for anxiety and has it helped?!
I need some reassurance on this as it’s making me not want to continue taken it feeling like this but I know it’ll more than likely help me in the long run ☹️

Hi Kayleighmc7, we all respond differently to different medications. Hopefully it starts working for you soon . Sorry to say but sertraline wasn’t the one for me. I noticed my anxiety got much worse after a few weeks , I thought it was just me , but then thought perhaps it’s the meds . Spoke to dr and weaned off and then started on escitalopram. Which has been great , no side effects I’m aware of , and much less anxious and my depression is under control. If something bad happens in my family I feel the depression coming on but I’m more in control now and haven’t gone back into that deep depression again. Please talk to dr though it may be the one for you and it just needs more time
Hi.I’ve suffered with depression for years.I’ve been on sertraline for over 5 years.I have difficulty sleeping.im lucky if I can get couple of hours sleep a night.I’m now on 200 mg of sertraline.I checked instructions it says it can cause insomnia..I talked to my doctor about this asked if sertraline can cause insomnia..was on 100mg then doctor put sertraline up to 200mg.I’m so frustrated with doctor feel they don’t listen to me .hope you will be ok on sertraline.works for some people.if you start having problems with sleeping go back to doctor.I can’t get off my tablets now.my body is used to the meds I feel it’s sertraline causing my insomnia.I stopped taking them was so fed up with it.I took withdrawal when I did that my depression and moods was terrible so had to start back on them.hope you are ok on them
