I’m at my wits end with my anxiety, as the days roll on I get worse and worse, can’t bear having people around me, not even my children and grandchildren, I’m so frightened all the time and feel like I’ve lost control, my granddaughter has a slight cough, she’s 6 and I had a meltdown, why is this happening to me, any feedback on how to control or cope with extreme anxiety would be so welcome. I just want some peace in my turbulent world. Thank you for reading, this is the only place I feel comfortable airing my concerns on, as I know I won’t be judged or told to get a grip. Wish I could get a grip really really do
I can’t do this anymore : I’m at my... - Anxiety and Depre...

I wish I knew what to say to help make it better but I feel at my end too nothing is going right and I feel lost in a world that doesn't seem to care but there are ways to calm anxiety my way is I look at a clock on the wall and tap my chest to the tic it regulates heart beat and is ment to calm people down
I know the feeling of having anxiety control my life and wanting to better manage my anxiety. Have you talked to your doctor or psychiatrist/ psychologist? Everyone is different but some meds and especially guided meditation has helped me get out of the crazy loop my thoughts get me into. They are still there but I can manage them better -- not not always.
Hi and thanks for your kind reply, I’ve spoken to my doctor and he has upped my meds and put me in touch with a counsellor, my first session is Friday, so hopefully will have a positive impact. I’m so sorry your feeling rubbish too, anxiety is the devil incarnate, it’s all so consuming and exhausting. Hope you find peace. Take care and thanks again for your kind reply, it gives me a lot of comfort. Take care
Hello . I am sorry you are having a hard time with your anxiety . I link you a video with some grounding techniques which will help reduce your anxietyyoutu.be/EEauOjtgIjg
Also I find mediation really helpful
I recommend an app called balance (fre year trial ) Or secondly medito which is free.
Also journalling , exercise , music , going outside , nature and eatting a balanced diet and drinking enough water , sleeping at regular time /routine all helps .
I am really happy you wrote on here , talking though your anxiety and thoughts really reduces anxitey and if you feel you can't then write them down .
If possible see your doctor and / or therapist .
Take care 🐼
Hi and thanks for your kind reply, I will certainly take a look at he video, I’ve spoken to my doctor and he has upped my medication and put me in touch with a counsellor, so hopefully this will have a positive impact. Thanks again it means a lot to me that you’ve taken time to reply. Take care
Sorry to hear I've learnt what sparks anxiety for me and U have to push past it's hard I am in pain I'm 62 and I realised I was doing similer even U say your scared all the time is adding stress to an already stressed body U have to react differently and that's when I made improvements in sleeping abit better but anxious 24/7 .this was me before I god I know I'm going to get anxious bad before bed what if I have a stroke because of my age so what do U think happened in telling my brain danger so it gives me more anxiety but now I say well I know I be anxious but it does matter and it's calmed down slot anger for me makes it worse as well. Hope this helps let me know xx
We got to stop adding second fear trying to rid yourself of anxiety doesn't work you live with it that's when it leaves
I'm confident U will make progress like me as not accepting anxiety is telling your brain your in danger it sees this it's hard and it takes along time don't expect it to go straight away that was my mistake it goes when it goes look up don't fight anxiety on this sight that will help U got to really accept so U don't say your accepting then looking over your shoulder if it's there U got to get to the stage you don't care if it's there then slowly U will recover a book by Paul David is good too hope I've been of help
Hi Cimmy,
I know how you feel. Anxiety is aweful, bit it does get better and there are treatments.
Medications are very effective for many people, they have been for me, so it would be worth speaking to your doctor.
CBT can help, there are lots of apps (Thrive is good and you can get a code to access it through the NHS).
You may find that you need medication to bring you up to a level where you can help yourselve more though, so don't be scared to go down this route.
Let us know how you get on.
All the best,
Dear CimmySorry for what you are going through, wish I could heal you! I can relate to what you are dealing with because I have extreme anxiety also.
What has helped me is getting out of my cocoon of safety and trying to face my fears. Also praying to God for help and talking to him and reading scriptures. Hugs, walks, eating right, deep slow breathing. Love, feeling it and giving it is wonderful. Helping others is giving love, and it helps you!
Giving you lots of Otter hugs…
I know how you feel. Things that help me. Before I get out of bed I do 2 rounds of the Wim Hof guided breathing exercises free on you tube. It’s all deep mouth breathing, no nose. I do it later in the day if I need it. Deep slow nose breathing is good too later on. 30 minutes of daily cardio exercise to produce endorphins and seratonin and burn off steam. You need dr ok for the last one . A 5 minute pure cold shower daily. I guess people with heart problems can’t do the cold water. I talk to a god of my own understanding, it seems to help.
I’m going to do them right now
