Have you guys got the sleep crazy sleep schedule of going to bed at like 3am? If you naturally were to wake up (with no alarm etc), would the time be around 11am or 2pm? How long have you been like this? Years? Your whole life? Tried to change it but nothing happens? Well guys I’m bringing awareness to a sleep disorder called DELAYED PHASE SLEEP DISORDER (DPSD for short).
DPSD is a circadian rhythm Disorder (your biological clock) whereby its out of sink with the sun/day, it can be caused by genetics, behavioral or environmental reasons the latters usually stemming from childhood or changes during puberty, for biological & behavioral reasons depression and anxiety are can often be linked to DPSD
The few studies done have estimated that around 1 in 600 have DPSD and does not necessarily go hand in hand with being a “night owl”.
There is a TON of information online to help understand/support yourself and there is treatment, and ways to change your biological timings, you happy as a night owl? Great! Is it not giving you the best time, and you want to change your identity/life? I understand, YOU CAN change it, I know it because I did.
If this hits close to home, or if you know someone like this leave a comment and let the awareness continue!

Sure no problem, happy to help! there are alot of things you can do to help change your condition/life habit, i hope this info allows you to look into how you can live a bit easier, i used to think mornings = struggle + stress, i take it thats the same for you?
The crankiness isn't aimed at you, just the Brave New World we inhabit.
If rats get tested, they have cancer. 🐀
Yes, you describe me perfectly. All my life. I never knew anything else. When I had a day job I would revert on the weekend. But as long as I get enough hours of sleep this is just me.
I'm sick and tired of everything being an illness.
Now that having nonconformist sleep hours is a "disorder", can big pharmaceutical be far behind?
By the way, if you lock your post it's safer for all of us. Gives us privacy from outside searches.
Thanks, ill look into locking my post, i cant find the option now? is it when posting i should apply that option?
also i get how you feel about everything being labeled as a disorder with a kind of "victim mentality" but i have to say, once i found out about this condition it actually allowed me to make a change and not have to hate my mornings or be alienated at night. it was jsut a stepping stone to getting better.
and i didn't need pills in the end just very specific life style changes backed up by scientific fact & research, hope your mornings get better x
