Hello, I have been experiencing frequent anxiety attacks lately. I workout and sleep a good amount, which usually helps to keep it in check but recently nothing seems to be working. I smoke a bit to relieve myself from it, but I know it is a bad habit, and one I have tried to quit because I hate to rely on a substance of any kind. Any advice?

hi Bel Jar i'm sorry to hear your having anxiety attacks, i'm pretty new to anxiety myself so i can relate to how all consuming they can be. I've been seeing a therapist for a few weeks to help with mine and some tools she has taught me to picture yourself watching TV, one channel is all the thoughts that are causing you anxiety and the channel 2 is your picture of a happy time in your life, what she has me do is flip between the two, chanel 1 and chanel 2, need to let the anxiety in on channel and see that channel 2 can help to calm your mind. She has me repeat this over and over again, and its helped me alot, hope it can give you some reprieve.
Good afternoon,I have found that listening to Contemporary Christian music helps and keeping upbeat and positive encouraging people in my life helps a lot.
