Emotions

Lately I have been experiencing a plethora of emotions that I'm not quite sure what to do. Not sure if its the anxiety or stress or my relationship or depression or even all of the above. I've always been a very introspective person, so I know that I can be emotional at times or even just extremely aware and critical of them, but I'm not quite sure what it is lately that is really making me feel so overwhelmed, because it really does feel like a lot mentally and physically. I am hoping to involve myself in more online communities as a way to help me find different ways to cope and get different advice. Maybe even a friend who is willing to give unbiased advice would be great. I hope this post finds you well.

Hi I can relate to some of what you’re saying about emotions I don’t know if mine are extreme or not or just normal given stressful or sad circumstances??? Anyway I feel for you I’m happy to try and be a listening ear if I can also!💕

Yes exactly! Not sure if it's just me overthinking, actually having large emotions, or if its just normal stress. Thanks for the reply!! I'd love to do the same for you if you ever need it!

Glad to have joined. I did start a new position at work so that’s been a lot, also other life situations. But I’m getting through.

The emotions that are toughest to deal with fall under emotional dysregualtion. I suffered this type fron childhood trauma. Another cause can be from chronic invalidation.😔 I hope you find the help you need.💗🙂

I will do some research on that. Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for almost 20 years. I have found the following techniques really help me when I am stressful, feel sad, and out of control.

1) The 557 breathing technique is take 5 deep breaths in while thinking good thoughts about yourself like I matter, I am special, I am strong and then hold the breaths for the count of 7 focusing on those words about yourself, then let out the breath slowly for 5 seconds letting go of any anxious, self-defeating, unhealthy thoughts. I do this one to three times a sitting.

2)The gratitude journal is writing down something good every morning and night something that went well in the day, or something I appreciate about myself. Taking our focus off of the anxiety and depression and focusing on positive uplifting things really helps. What you think is what you believe. So thinking uplifting things you believe those things but the reverse is true - thinking negative self-defeating things, you will believe those.

3) Emotional Freedom Tapping - bit.ly/3AVYNiX You use pressure points to tap on those points while you repeat positive uplifting things to yourself.)

I will be praying for you. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat. Hugs and God Bless

Awesome thanks so so much! I always love trying new techniques. I do use the gratitude journal and I love it, just have to be more consistent with. Thanks so much! I will definitely be reaching out!

Hi, I have found that a lot of it is Covid related, the sense of isolation from what is normal for us, getting around, seeing friends, going to events.

If we are already down, it makes it all seem worse, as if we are trapped.

Like a hamster, running in its wheel all the time.
