This is one of my favorite sayings :)And if you say and believe in that often enough,

you will begin to feel the change.

It's not easy......there's breathing exercises, and other stuff, but it would be nice to just not have it no more, that would be awesome.

Freespiritgal This is a weird one, but I actually find it helpful to suck on Halls cherry cough drops when my anxiety gets bad, especially to help with the nausea.

For crisis: breathing, meditation / mindful repetition of scripture, e.g. the Lord is my Shepherd, meds, absorbing but mentally neutral or positive activities, like guitar, complex games. Fortunately, my work is usually a balm, not a burden.

For general resilience, all of those, plus exercise, healthy eating, watching the birds, talking to spouse, a few friends, and those I’m in service with through my church. Lots of prayer. Occasional tears.

You will get many ideas on here. We keep trying things until we find things that work for each of us. Lots of seasoned dragon fighters on here. β€œFairy tales are important, not because they tell us there are dragons, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”

Hi, the best thing to do is to talk to your GP. 😘

Welcome Freespirtgal. Anxiety was my primary issue and the way I dealt with it was to learn what I could about it. I found the youtube videos by Dr. Claire Weekes and the Date Anxiety Book and program. They helped me understand what anxiety actually is, why I had it and how to accept the anxious thoughts and feelings. Learning and practicing mindfulness has been very helpful for observing and detaching from my thoughts and feelings. Also learning to breathe properly from the diaphragm and when feeling anxious, slow alternating nostril breathing. Another thing to look at is if your hormones, thyroid and adrenal glands are functioning properly, if not, they can contribute to or cause anxiety. I've also found antidepressant medication helpful. I hope this is helpful.
