What is some of the best life advice you've ever received?

It can be about anything. :) I'm trying to soak up all the wisdom and light I can, and in turn give the light to others. 🥰

Love this group and love you guys! Hope everything is well.

Honestly I think the best but also kinda frustrating advice is to follow your dreams and do what you love to do. and not just for a job or career, but if you like to hike then go hike when you can or paint or read or whatever. If you love it do it and always follow your dreams and your heart!

Treat others as you would like to be treated. Keep your side of the street clean so you can sleep at night. Take your own inventory first before you take another’s.

say what you think. Tell the truth about what you think

Honesty is usually the best policy, Kainan, unless it injures others. 👍🏼

Yes thanks for the input. I would say though that even if it may sound harsh or crass sometimes it needs to be said. Also the other person may be hurt in the long run if we don’t tell them what we really think

Different situations need different ways of handling. I’m thinking before I tell someone something that I think is the truth, I need to make sure the benefits outweigh the harm. Good intentions can go awry. And that’s the truth! 😁

That’s my point exactly. Good job 👍

Quotes that I have heard or read that resonated with me:

What goes around comes around

Actions speak louder than words

Kindness doesn't cost a thing

When someone shows you their true colors believe them the first time around

Dont dim your lights for another

The definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result

Life isnt a spectator sport, dont sit on the bench or stand at the sidelines

When someone shows you their true colors……when someone tells you they’re a jerk, believe them.

It's quite a list. Everyone an important life lesson.

This one hits home:

"When someone shows you their true colors believe them the first time around."

It's one that I struggle with especially when it comes to loved ones cuz I like to give them "grace"

The road to success is always under construction.

I always wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

You are not your anxious thoughts.

This just stuns me. I'm not. I'm not?

designguy profile image
designguy

Absolutely not! it's your attachment to them that is the issue, not the thoughts. The best thing you can do is to learn and practice simple mindfulness which will enable you to learn to observe your thoughts and even your feelings and realize they are not you, they are just thoughts and feelings, it's the attachment to them that causes us the problems.

Many years ago when I was very overwhelmed and anxious my Mom said to me, "The only thing you need to do right now is to breathe in and breathe out".
