Escitalopram and zopiclone

Can you take escitalopram 5mg in the daytime for anxiety and is it OK to take zopiclone at 10pm my bedtime

Rule of thumb when taking sleeping aids is not to take anything else at the same time that can cause drowsiness. Since you're taking it in the day, any sleepy effect should wear off before the evening. 5mg of Escitalopram is a low dose so I wouldn't expect you to get sleepy. In regards of Zopiclone you really want to avoid taking that stuff for more than 4 weeks, especially with a high dose of 10mg as you will build up tolerance and become dependent on it. Personally I advise you to ask for amitriptyline and up the dosage weekly until you get a sedative effect, not only does it make you sleepy, but it helps with pain associated with anxiety, and reduces anxiety. Not enough doctor's use it, it's safe all the way up to the hundreds of mgs, I take 50mg nightly and have not built a tolerance to it in the 10 years I've been taken it.
