I started to take escitalopram one month and a half ago. As I moved to another country I had problems to get the prescription in the new country I´m living, so I had to ask a friend to send me the pills by post mail. It took more time than expected and I finished my pills and the new ones didn´t come on time... SO I´ve been about two weeks or more without the treatment. I´m not very experienced with this kind of medicine and I accepted to take them because I had a hyperventilation episode inside a bus and afterward I´m very scared of having another one again because I´m most of the time alone.
I want to read opinions about escitalopram from you.
Thanks

How are feeling now? If the hyperventilating has stopped and that was the only episode, perhaps you should reconsider whether you need to restart the medication. I would take medical advice. I take 10 mg escitalopram for generalised anxiety disorder and I do well on it. 😊
Well, I´ve had other panic attacks but I usually refer to the last one since it was the worst... I was hospitalized and I also fainted inside the ambulance. I wasn´t able to breath and my hands and face were completely motionless. I was having lot of problems to breath for a prolonged time because of stresful situations that I don´t handle very well.
At the beginning I was prescribed with Escitalopram and neurol, and now I only have Escitalopram.
Have you registered with a doctor where you’re now living? You obviously can’t continue to depend on the post to get the drugs. I certainly feel that these are really beneficial and wouldn’t want to stop taking them. If you felt they were helping for the 6 weeks you were taking them, with no attacks then perhaps you should get a new prescription. Good luck 😊
Hi, I already got the new ones. I re took them today. My doctor sent me treatment for 3 months. Somehow I felt that they were really helping me and during the time I didn´t take them I started to feel anxious and stressed again
Oh that’s great news! I hate to think of you being unable to get the meds you need. They have certainly helped me a lot. If you look at the reviews on drugs.com you’ll see other reviews. Mostly positive with the negative reviews usually because people give up due to the first couple of weeks when some people get bad side effects, but these tend not to last. Keep me informed and good luck 😉
