I'm sorry to write 2 posts in one day, but I'm a bit concerned about a change my pharmacy made. I've been taking one brand of generic Lexapro/escitalopram for 7 years. Walgreens has been my pharmacy that entire time and have decided to change to a different manufacturer of the generic. I'm nervous to take it even though I know it by law has to contain the same drug in the same amounts. Has anyone else had to change manufacturers like that and did you do okay with it? I hate taking medicine anyway, so things like this completely throw a wrench into my thinking. The pharmacist reassured me over and over again, but I'd love to hear any real world experience. The manufacturer I took for years was Cipla and this new one is Cadista.

Generic Lexapro manufacturer change
Hi it’s Shnookie. I’ve taken Lexapro for a long time. I go to CVS. I believe that the manufacturers of the Lexapro had changed 4 me as well. It didn’t negatively impact me.
I’m here here 4 U hugs 🤗 S
Thank you. I get so worried. It's scary when t your depression is stable. I'm just so afraid of something setting it back off again. I took my first dose this evening though so hopefully all will be good. I read through some similar posts on here as well and they made me feel better.
Hi there, I have been taking Lexapro for almost 10 years now. I only had a change of manufacture once and it was horrible. Very scary side effects and suicidal thoughts. I had to call 7 different pharmacies until I could find my old manufacture. Good luck!
The active formulation has to be the same but fillers can cause differences. I had an issue with lamictrogine. My pharmacy orders the correct brand for me. Corporate actually resisted but apparently they have to. Walgreens pharmacists don’t seem to have any backbone though. I just don’t use Walgreens after overpaying and the never fixed it and their health department violations most recently. .
