I recently heard about people hiring sex workers, for a bizarre reason. The reason? To introduce people with autism and other disabilities to sex. Here’s why I’m not comfortable with this:

If someone on the spectrum wants to improve in relationships and sex then fine. But it has to be a choice. Otherwise, forcing us to be normal is not being accepting of us and our world is way too obsessed with sex as it is.

Honestly. This is demeaning and disgusting because it’s society telling us if we’re not having sex then we’re doing something wrong. We’re not missing out. There’s so much more to life. I’m proud to be me, and not who others want me to be. That’s true equality, and it needs to happen for us.

I would think that would be an illegal and highly unethical practice. I'm quite shocked to hear of something like that happening.

It's choice. Its something that in my day developed slowly in a long-term relationship (I suppose I sound ancient). It was only one aspect of that relationship.

It's not right to pressurise anybody, or group of people.

It wasn’t that long ago that celibacy was celebrated and everyone in polite society acted like no one had sex. Today’s society is just in rebellion against that. Now we pretend like everyone has sex all the time…a lot of people are lying or padding their numbers.

In my opinion, sex is a sacred expression of love between two people committed to each other. I would never dream of sharing my body with someone who had not earned it by consistent expressions of sacrificial love.

My husband is pretty much obsessed with me. He’s completely loyal and would literally die for me. He wants me to be happy.

I would rather be happily single than settle for anything less than complete devotion.

This is my opinion and not a condemnation of other people’s opinions.

No one should have sex unless they really want to with someone and it's what both people want to do with each other, simple as that. I know well how some guys can be a little too persuasive. And there's some girls who throw themselves at men too. It's shameful behavior from both. And is anyone concerned or worried about getting a girl pregnant or spreading around sexually transmitted diseases??? Condoms were invented for a reason. Sorry for the lecture but there's some people out there who need a reality check!!!

For centuries, fathers have hired ladies to teach their sons the ropes of the process of sex. That is well known. I have seen movies where war buddies take the virgin “into town” (I cannot speak to legitimacy of that). In many countries, sex workers are legal and regulated and health screened. Body chemistry happens. If a person, NT or ASD, wants to learn more and there is a safe way to do it, then maybe that is one route. An anxiety attack when the moment arrives and there is no practical knowledge might be devastating.
