still suffering

I'm getting better little by little finally. But I'm still not totally ok yet.

My brain is so nervous and keeps making up catastrophic scenarios TODAY..... I'm totally pessimistic and negative.

I've suffered too much and too long from antidepressant withdrawals. It's still haunting me.

I’m glad you’re getting better little by little! This is definitely a marathon not a sprint.

Thank you for your kind word. Yes it's a marathon. I had to fight so hard. It was a real hell. I'm almost ok now but still not totally ok yet. How are you doing? Hugs

How long have you been off antidepressants?

I quit it 3 years ago. I was off antidepressant for 2 years then I reinstated another one. Thank you for reaching out. Hugs.

I was just curious. I tried quitting a few times but then I would get worse.

Yes I went through a real hell....but I had to quit it due to my health issue. Withdrawals are terrible and the subsequent brain recovery is very slow.

I have had brain zaps when withdrawing from a couple of them.

I had terrible brain zaps. I experienced every single withdrawal symptoms. It was worse than a hell. I thought my brain was destroyed.

I had two doctors that never heard of brain zaps. I had to explain it to them. I'm sure the pharm sales people don't mention this phenomenon to the doctors that prescribe them.

Nobody really knows what will happen in our brain after taking psychotropic meds. But brain zap is common when you suffer withdrawals.

in reply to NiBa5

Sorry for my ignorance, but what are brain zaps? What symptoms do you experience from antidepressant withdrawal? My heart goes out to you and anyone experiencing withdrawal. You said it- it's worse than hell.

Me too. I had every single withdrawal symptoms. It was worse than a hell. I was on Lexapro for 20 years till I had a very minor heart attack. So I came it off.
