Benadryl side effects

I took a benadryl earlier because I was having an allergic reaction. I have had elevated heart rate since. I called the on call doctor and they said that is a side effect and to just relax. I am really struggle to relax. I just want to sleep but can't due to my anxiety.

Look up progressive muscle relaxations in YouTube. Those usually help me when I can’t sleep

That’s my favorite one. I used to take Benadryl a lot since I have terrible allergies. I’ve accidentally taken too much before. You will be okay I promise. Maybe make a list of what you’re worried about and then write the likelihood of what you’re worried about happening actually happening. It may help you feel calmer

I’m sorry you had a bad reaction to the medication after you had an allergic reaction!! I hope both symptoms subside soon.

Was it just Benadryl or did it have something added to it?

My sister’s blood pressure goes up if she has any medications that end in -D (Claritin-D, etc.).

Thank you! I believe it was just benadryl but I will check in the morning.

I ended up having to go to the ER today but it was so they could check for blood clots. Of course all the things they gave me at the urgent care I started with elevated my heart rate. Good news is I dont have any blood clots. They think I have residual effects from the COVID I had in March.
