Former Met. Police officer, retired 1989m married with large family now suffers with long term PTSD and other anxiety issue's. Has had some previous council/group help/guidance. but did not succeed indeed failed. Since then has developed his own way to prevent anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts by way of distraction, learning new skills, crafts keeping busy. But recently, last months has had serious setbacks and asks if anyone has any other suggestions of methods that would help. I do not have any friends to chat with. Maybe someone could listen to me and I would listen to them. I truly appreciate anyone's time I hope to find the help I need in order to fight my growing thoughts of self harm, suicidal thoughts? Thank you.

Hi Lewis, sorry to hear about your situation. As a fellow depressed and anxious person, I highly recommend the app "7cups of tea". You can instantly access thousands of listeners for free that are compensated for their time by the company. Many are licensed therapists as well I believe. Good luck and stay strong
Have you tried Mindfulness, Relaxation Technique, you can purchase books on Amazon, £8;00 approx.
You need to fully address the PTSD and move on accordingly. CAB will possibly help, although you can only be shown how to address your problem and move on
Was the PTSD caused by your past employement ? If so were you not helped by the MET ?.

I'd be interested in mutually supportive chat Lewis1. Direct message me 🙂 pls
