I suffer from acute anxiety disorder depression and P.T.S.D.
When I went for a medical because I was 'well groomed as the letter says and I clean my flat I was OK.
I went into a decline and cut my wrists. I called the emergency services and they were lovely.
I was admitted to a psyche ward 3times that year but everything worked out with my money.
The question I cannot get an answer is because I don't like being not clean and I don't like a dirty flat or clutter is it OK to have my illness?
I'm confused. A lady I know who has depression did say that when she has a relapse she cannot wash. Lovely lady but her son is very good and he will always do housework.

Yes, I had a doctors letter and a solicitor plus a mh guy who wrote that I can do a voluntary job because my colleagues were reassuring as they know what I did and I am mental health.
I just wanted to say that the benefit system is very complex they have a one size fits all approach which is very unhelpful when you are suffering emotionally l am very much like you and cannot not stand being in a dirty environment but l do have days when l cannot clean cook or generally take care of myself but l still get very anxious about keeping my home clean sometimes l think it helps me feel in control ..take care and try not to let the benefit system worry you lm glad you got your entitlement re instated
Totally agree but l feel sometimes there they just want to come up with something because they think it would help but only you know what will help you it’s taken me a long time to not always do what people tell me to do l know it’s hard when it come to cleaning as l think everyone is different and some can’t manage it but l sometimes get annoyed with myself as l have to keep up with housework even when l am in a lot of physical pain but you take care and always do what’s best for you
I do agree with you; I would love a dog, but I would fall over a little one and hurt us both, and I have always had large/Giant breeds in the past. What I need is a couch potato.
Plus vet bills are exhorbitant and I am on a pension.
