I'm going to switch from Cymbalta back to zoloft or try Prozac and I keep hearing terrible withdrawal stories which are freaking me out. Anyone have good withdrawal stories with minimal symptoms?

Don't believe everything you read.

Read critically.

We're all different and react in that way. Definitely stay with your docs plan on switching. I had no problem quitting Celexa; however, quitting Buspar was a challenge for me. My doctor said most people have the reverse issue. Psyche meds are very distinct and effect people in that manner.

Try to avoid reading stories about this on the internet. Most of the people who post have had negative reactions to changing medications. The majority don't have problems and therefore don't bother to post. Pugglesworth (what a cute name) is right.

Agree 100%. I adore people who come out and say good things because there is not a lot of those. And their comments got me through some tough times! People are fast to judge if something did not work. A lot of times I think it is their doctors or then themselves. And not medication at fault.

While I believe that coming off of all medications in this realm could be tough, it does not mean it will for everyone and how it will. I came off Zoloft a few times, Klonopin, and even quetiapine. And yes, I maybe had a tough week where I was crying and thought it will never stop. But I listened to my doctor carefully and followed through, and it all ends and you get better. So just give it a shot and do not freak out. It takes up to a month or two to fully switch. Sometimes even shorter than that. But freaking out in the first 2 weeks is definitely unnecessary. Try to find support if you can. And just let yourself be! Good luck! I believe in you!

Are you tapering?

I am not sure the side effects are worse than some others. Everyone is different. Don't go into it expecting the worst or the worst is what you will get.
