I’m getting my first jab this week and for the past week my anxiety has been hitting it’s high thinking about how I’m going to be once I’ve had the jab. I suffer from anxiety attacks, panic attacks and Emetophobia so I’m extremely scared so if anyone could talk to me about their experience that would be great.

Pfizer after effects.
The Pfizer shot is highly effective. Try to keep that in your mind. After the first shot you may feel a little tired and have a very good night's sleep. Your arm may hurt a little at the location of the injection. I did not have anything more than that. The people administering the shot are very kind and understand that a lot of people are anxious. You will have to wait 15 minutes after so that they can make sure you are OK, and then you can go about your day.Just keep thinking about the fact that you will be much safer shortly after your second shot. As an anxious person think how much more anxious you would be if you did indeed develop covid.
I've had both Pfizer jabs. Never noticed any after effects whatsoever. But then I wasn't expecting any. What's more, I have never heard of anybody having panic attacks after the Pfizer jab.
My wife had same and felt ever so slightly fluey for just the following day. Then fine.
If you have the Pfizer jabs and you have feelings of high anxiety about it and you experience anxiety disorder then imagination could oblige.
So have the jab and don't then start examining yourself for expected symptoms and you'll be fine.
I didn’t have Pfizer but I know how you feel. I was anxious too. I had the typical side effects. Still, I’d get fully vaccinated again in a heartbeat. 👍🏼🌿👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤗
I had the Moderna vaccine, I did not feel any side effects, just a sore arm. I was a little nervous with the first vaccine, because its well a shot and a vaccine. I was more relaxed on the second shot
you will have arm pain for a few days but you will have to stretch the arm to help decrease the pain also will get tired or super tired it depends on how your body reacts you will need to rest for a few days if your symptoms are mild
I have had both AZ shots and had no real discernable side effects. My partner has had both Pfizer shots and had a sore arm and felt a bit fluey for a couple of days, but nothing too bad.
Our son has had one Pfizer jab and had the sore arm and mild headache for a day.
The whole process was very relaxed, organised and over in no time.
All the best.
I know lots of people who have had the Pfizer vaccine and not one of them felt ill or had any side effects so be assured you will be fine. More people seem to feel a bit poorly after having the Astra Zeneca which I had. I would love to have been offered the Pfizer vaccine but we had no choice so you are very lucky to be offered it. I was also a bit concerned about having the vaccine as I have lots of problems and thought it may make me very ill but I went for it anyway as it's much safer to be vaccinated than not. Good luck and try not to worry about it, you will be just fine.
Anxiety is normal.I hope you have supportive staff who can take the time to help you through this
The anxiety is real. This is all new for everyone. Talking it out will help.
We had one patient that had anxiety post vaccine, in the parking lot. We took her back in and checked her out. We let her sit for as long as she needed. Just being with us helped her calm down.
Remember we can't predict who has side effects. Keep reminding yourself why you are getting the vaccine. If you do have side effects understand they will be short lived. Your body is reacting normally and you will get through this.
Let us know how you do.

My brother and I had both shots, no problems. The dozens of people at the vax clinic seemed ok too. Good luck!
I had the AZ vaccine, started to get the shivers after about 12 hours. Had absolutely no energy, couldn't sleep, achey joints and real bad headache. Lasted 2-3 days, had more or less worn off by day 3 but the tiredness lingers a bit. Arm is still sore after 4 days. Hopefully the 2nd injection won't be as bad
For what it's worth almost everyone I have spoken to who has had the AZ vaccine has had the same / similar reaction. I don't think the government like media outlets to talk too much about the negatives as it will affect the number of people getting the vaccine, so I understand why. At the end of the day if you are young fit and healthy, there's no real need personally to get the vaccine - it's more about stopping the spread of the virus and protecting others who are more vulnerable. If the media start scare stories, then a lot of young people might think, thanks but no thanks, I'll take my chances. Sad we've all been put in this position, but we are where we are unfortunately.
I had Covid in December and then both doses of the Pfizer in March. I went to work the next day both times.
My mom didn’t have Covid. She took one day off work after she got the second dose of Pfizer.
Both of my jabs were Pfizer & I did have side effects but I also have underlying health issues & amongst those is my immune system & its behaviour. I'm not going to say expect this & that as it will trigger an attack & thats wrong of me to do. As for ur Emetophobia have you sort out a therapist ?
No I haven’t been to see anyone about my Emetophobia because I’m scared of what I’ll have to do to get help
Seeing a professional is the best way to learn about any phobia & learning to understand something is 80% of any battle , its best to be armed with the correct information than allowing ur brain take you toward the darkness & anxiety gets us there at supersonic rates. I only suggest it as learning will help arm you with the knowledge that you need . Taking other people's advice is entirely up to you but if they're not medically qualified then they could suggest the wrong thing. Not saying that people would do that but the longer you observe others in this group you will see patterns appear. In this group its good to talk & listen & learn but any medical advice needs to be from professionals only as they know ur history & any allergies.
End of day it's entirely up to you but remember if you hurt ur head when you hit that brick wall then don't expect the 2nd or 15th time to be different.
I had the Moderna. I have anxiety, also. I was terrified. I had side effects to both shots. But it went away quickly. You will be ok.
If suffer from anxiety, your GP can prescribe a mild sedative to take 2 hours before vaccination - it worked wonders with me, and I was calm with both jabs.
