Hi, I’m struggling with anxiety and depression and have started on antidepressants about 12 days ago.
I had a bout of depression a few years ago and a few years before that. Each time I was placed on medication and I guess felt better after a while, as I was able to get off the medication.
This time feels different though. It feels like I’ll never feel better sometimes. I’ve just totally lost interest in doing anything or seeing anyone. I’m hopeful that the medication will kick in soon and I’ll start to feel more myself.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I’m grateful I found this forum and looking forward to interacting with everyone here.

This line sounds familiar, probably to everyone on here: "This time feels different though. It feels like I’ll never feel better sometimes. " But yes, you will feel better, maybe not today or tomorrow or even next week, but never think you won't get better, because you will. Good luck with your challenge.
Hi there i m pretty new here too about a week ive been posting and replying. I too, started meds a few weeks ago for some serious issues that have happened. I have found people to be very helpful and giving good insight to my thoughts and questions
If you ever want to reach out or share or what not, please message me! Im looking for newer friends to communicate with as well🙂
I am new to the group too. I have guilt in that I have many good things in my life but the depression and sometimes anxiety keep me from enjoying it all. I also do meditation and centering prayer and hold out hope that I will find comfort through these things. I am hoping to keep a discussion going, especially with another new member.
I am taking Zoloft, and Clonazepam (for anxiety) but was almost off it and hope to be again as it causes dependence and may not help with depression. I plan to stay on Zoloft for awhile as my work situation changes over the next few months. Hope to continue this conversation.
Hi and welcome 😊 you have known better and happier times and you will again. A day with anxiety & depression can feel like a year!! Can I ask what medication you are on if you don’t mind?
I’m taking Lexapro and I take Trazodone at night primarily for sleep but I’m hoping it will help with the depression as well. Do you have any experience with these?
I don’t sorry, I’m in the middle of reducing my medication to start a new one. What I have found though is you will always hear negative stories about any medication but don’t be discouraged, if it’s a suitable medication for you it can change your life for the better. Never feel like you are alone we are all on the same journey and if you ever need a chat I’m here. 😊
Lexapro did help me for a long while. Trazadone helped me sleep but I did not like the groggy feeling the next day I think it would have improved if I had stuck with it.
Several years ago when I was feeling better for awhile. But I have tried other meds since. Right now I am just starting to get back on Zoloft which also worked for me.
I understand tis feeling. I have my wonderful daughter and her husband here and my husband and I still can't even go out and join them for dinner. I wish you good luck with getting together with good people. I know there will be many times when you can and then maybe more and more.
