I have my first COVID vaccine shot in a few hours & my anxiety is at an all time high. Doctors & especially shots are very triggering for me. I know getting the vaccine is necessary & will mean many good things... but I'm so terrified... don't know if I can do this. It's going to be at a convention center & only people with appt are allowed in (so my husband can't be with me). My brother & his girlfriend have appt around the same time... though who knows if they'll be able to be with me at the time. ๐Ÿฅบ

I don't know where you live, but my experience is that the vaccine places, including the big ones are very well organized. You don't feel crowded and there are people to help and direct you. In general they are designed to minimize anxiety. The shot itself was not painful. I was told a very thin needle was used and I can almost say I didn't feel it. I think you will be OK, and then you can look forward to a good afternoon nap or a really good night's sleep as the first one made me tired. Was fine the next day. xx

I went with my sons to Citifield in NYC. They kept us all together the entire time. Only side effects were soreness and aches lasting no more than 24 hours. You can do this.

Doing well thank you. So glad to be fully vaccinated. Did you get Pfizer or Moderna? Assuming you're in the states...

Yup, in CA. Got Moderna. So far only my arm hurts, way more than yesterday. My second shot is on Mother's Day.

I have a fear of needles and crowds. I was pretty nervous about the vaccine but it really wasnt nearly as bad as I expected. Literally could barely feel the needle. The process was quick. Just make sure you take something later on if your arm gets sore. I was surprised at the soreness that eventually followed.

I'm not a fan of crowds either, luckily they are limiting the amount of people. Thanks for the tip... arm is starting to hurt (2 hours later).Going to take something once I get home.๐Ÿ’›

I appreciate you posting on this - I was also very nervous and alone. The people were sympathetic and helpful. They didn't make me leave the desk where I had my vax until I was ready. I am so glad I could be honest about feeling nervous.

๐Ÿ’› I am trying to learn to trust ours & be honest with my anxiety. Glad we both got the support we needed & brave to ask & be honest.

So glad you went ahead and took care of yourself! Sometimes itโ€™s just that it is unknown. Good for you!

๐Ÿ‘My arm is sore. Barely felt a thing when she gave it to me... basically enough for the brain to go what the heck was that? Got Moderna, so one more to go.
