Trying to taper off Mirtazapine 30 mg while upping Sertraline to 100 mg from 50 and feeling not well at all. Anyone have any experience with these meds to share?

Has anyone had experience tapering off Mirtazapine?
I've tried something similar and didn't feel well either. I ended up going back to the same dose of Mirtazapine. I was wondering why you are changing antidepressant? Is this on recommendation from your GP or your own choice? Mirtazapine is a different class of antidepressant completely to Sertraline.
Hi, thanks for your response, I was initially put on Mirtazapine to help me sleep which it did for awhile and then not so much. Dr upped my dose to help with depression and did not seem to help and I was still dealing with anxiety. So he decided to go a different route and went with Sertraline. He said to take half the Mirtazapine 30 mg for a week and then stop. I have only been on it four months.
Mirtazapine can be difficult to withdraw from for some people, it should be done very very gradually
Yes it took me twelve months to do properley
Hi Ldm247I would love to give you a response about your antidepressants but I really can’t remember what iv taken and how iv come off of them and how iv felt, my head is all messed up. This past year and a half iv been on about 8ish. maybe more different ones and none of them have worked I’m now on venlafaxine and pregablin, I phoned the mad doc yesterday because I’m not coping I’m either very depressed or angry/aggressive.I hope you manage with your tabs
Actually, I'm taking it at night, but the problem is that when I get up in the morning my head hurts a lot, and I don't know if it's normal or not!
Does it feel like pressure in your head, that is the feeling I have had a lot.
yes, Exactelly. it's like a pressure and I can't concentrate well😪
Same here, I feel like it is partly due to the Mirtazapine. I am tapering down am at 7.5 mg starting today. Was on 45 mg January and February.
I guess you sleep to easy when you take it, isn't? because in my case, after ten minutes I sleep 😜😅😂
Hi MohammedLife and Welcome...
I too, fall asleep within minutes of hitting the pillow. I use Meditation throughout the day and before bed as well as breathing which relaxes me into a REM sleep. xx
