It could be either!

When I’m anxious my heart rate does get really weird. And when I was adjusting to new or coming off antidepressants, my heart felt weird too.

Unless you’re on other meds (like blood pressure ones) and the palpitations start or don’t seem extreme, you should be fine.

But if you really are worried or uncomfortable, definitely get it checked out just in case 💙

I am only on Trazodone, I started it three days ago now. But I have my doctor ringing tomorrow, so I will see what he says.

Hi there, it can take up to 4 weeks for most antidepressants to start working, give it time. Its scary when your hearts racing, its like an anxiety attack. Any concerns tell your doctor👍

The doctor has taken me off them, just to see if it is the antidressants were affecting my breathing and heart palpitations.

Hi 👋 this is Shnookie. I’m 62 and was officially diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder in 1998 and been on a medication cocktail since. In my experience, anxiety can make U have heart palpitations, have an overactive bladder, w/o sounding gross

Overactive BMs causing me to lose about 6 pounds in a week, pains all over your body

and stiffened muscles - why I take Flexeril some times. The idea is to lower your anxiety levels thru things such as dee breathing exercises, meditation techniques,

positive visualizations, I.e. being in

Veradero Beach In Havanion sitting under an umbrelling and watching the clear blue waters and what I love ❤️ is listen to all kinds of music I like on my I phone.

I’m here 4 U. Hugs 🤗 S

It just worries me my anxiety, I ain't used to breathing more than normal and I ain't used to feeling my heart beating or hearing it when I lie on my side.

This is understandable if this is never happened to U b4. Speak to your therapist and see if this is a possible reaction to your new Med. I make suggestions, like deep breathing, lavender bubble baths meditation, music U like etc. I do empathize with U. I’ve had these kind of reactions for n the past. U can always contact me on the private chat line. I’m here 4 U hugs, S

Hi Lonely3190. I notice you are now following me. Please read my personal profile. I will add that I did a CBT course and learnt that you can't die from palpitations, which put my mind at rest. They are very scary though. From my very long and awful illnesses, I have discovered that my palpitations were due to low vitamins. All the B vitamins are vital for correct breathing, I have managed to get myself well by taking all the vitamins I have listed in my profile. I am 70 this year, and at long last I do feel well. Good luck

Hello there. I am have vitamin B12 injections, as mine are lie. I have two more to go, then I will have a blood test to see if has done anything.

marigold22 profile image
marigold22 in reply toLonely3190

To be honest, just vitamin B12 won't help you. It is a start, but all the B vitamins work together. There are B1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 & 12. Vitamin B9 is folate, or folic acid which is the iron. Because you're having the injections, it shows that you are short in B vitamins. It is complicated and in my long and horrible experience, doctors don't seem to know anything about vitamins.

I really want my life back on track. I want my anxiety controlled and get my Vitamins.

Absolutely. Anxiety has sent me to the ER for symptoms of a heart attack. TBH though, it could be anxiety and/or your medication depending on what you're taking. Definitely bring this up to your doctor.

I was taking something called Mirtazepine and they now have put me on Trazodone but they are taking me off it for seven days, just to see if it sorts anything out.

So you are on anti-depressants. I hope not Mirtazepine and Trazodone both together. I suggest you finish your course of vitamin B12 injections and wait for the results. I have learnt that I must ask the doctor's receptionist for a printed copy of all my blood test results. This is because the doctor can say "all fine" but in fact one or some of the results can be just within the Range. Which is not OK. When you get the printed results, write out the results and put them into a post here.

They told me to take Trazodone, whilst I was being weaned off the Mirtazepine.

marigold22 profile image
marigold22 in reply toLonely3190

Do you know why the doctor changed you from Mirtazepine to Trazodone?

Lonely3190 profile image
Lonely3190 in reply tomarigold22

Because I couldn't sleep on them, so he wanted to try me on Trazodone. As it is more sedative but I only get four hours sleep and now all this breathing and heart palpitations stuff.

marigold22 in reply toLonely3190

It is impossible to understand any of it without blood tests. You need to ask for a full iron panel and get a printed copy of the results. Post them here or send me a private message when you have then

I am hoping they will do a blood test after my 6th injection and I can ask then.

Could be a lot of things. Best leave that to the docs. But definitely tell them as they should be putting this on your file future reference.

They did a chest x-ray and that came back normal.

I’m coming off mirtazipine 15mg (only on them about 7 weeks) and after four weeks stopping them I started with horrid palpitations. Reading about this drug it can be one of withdrawal symptoms. Now about 8 or 9 weeks off still getting them . Dr can hear them and swapped my atenolol to bisoprolol to see if it helped it hasn’t .
