Overthinking and stress

I have been looking for the ways to come out from the cage of overthinking cause it sucks everytime but couldn't.

So everything now I'm doing is to make myself cope up with it or to simply tolerate everything about it.

How are you

I can relate with that. I used to be excatly like you. I used to think that being busy will help me but it didn't. I would play music, didnt help. I did some breathing exercise, helps for a few minutes then come back. It was until I focused on something like instead of my body being busy my mind would have to. Sometimes I spend so many hours responding to people here and chatting with friends just to make sure that i don't bring the negetive thoughts. It is better that my mind is busy but it is hard work. Have you found out from doctors if there are meds that can help?

Thank you for reaching out and sharing. Life isn't about just getting through. It is about trial and error and finding things to help us cope in the journey of life. These two techniques really help me with my overthinking and stress. I hope you find them useful too.

The 557 breathing technique is take 5 deep breaths in while thinking good thoughts about yourself like I matter, I am special, I am strong and then hold the breaths for the count of 7 focusing on those words about yourself, then let out the breath slowly for 5 seconds letting go of any anxious, self-defeating, unhealthy thought. I do this one to three times a sitting. The gratitude journal is writing down something good every morning and night something that went well in the day, or something I appreciate about myself. Taking our focus off of the anxiety and depression and focusing on positive uplifting things really helps. What you think is what you believe. So thinking uplifting things you believe those things but the reverse is true - thinking negative self-defeating things, you will believe those.

I also spend time in prayer and try to leave all my concerns with God. I have to do this over and over, but it does bring me peace. Lastly, I also listen to supportive comforting uplifting music, that I can focus my thoughts on throughout the day. I will be praying for you. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat. Hugs and God Bless
