is there any way to control my tension?

I found that every time I am nervous, the neighbor begins to complain by making noise, weird coughing, slamming the door and so on. I feel terrified, I know the only solution is to stay calm and chill, but I couldn't make it. I become more tensive and streesed actually.I am sure that I met some problems, but I couldn't figure it out,I was worried that I have disturbed people, but I didn't hear a thing before the complaining noise, all I do is fearing, worrying and having lots of pain. However I feel guilty about being nervous, that's extremely terrible.

I know my discription is ridiculous,I ask my families and best friends, they just said I am overthinking,I would speak the same words to myself years ago,now I just can't get rid of the anxious thought.

Recently,I feel like taking any meds that would calm me down, cause I am so stressed and exhausted.

Now I am looking for a new job,not quitely knowing what I can do,my last job was a shop clerk,it was a nightmare and I made less than 300 dollars half an year. It's so hard and I become unmotivative,I couldn't find any joys and hope in life sometimes.

Hi there. First of all, please don't feel guilty.I'm a little confused myself. Are you saying that you get nervous because your neighbor makes these noises? It doesn't sound ridiculous to me at all; I'm just making sure that I understand what you're saying.

It is horrible to feel this way. When you are home you should feel like you are in a place where you can relax and be in your own space the way you are.

In my 20s and 30 I was diagnosed with schizoid affective disorder (which turned out to be a crock of nonsense) realizing later in life I was merely a very anxious, shy and self conscious person , but like you I felt shame and did not want to be seen and projected my own negative self belief as how others must see and react towards me. A self fulfilling prophecy in most cases.

Part of the solution for me came as a blessing in disguise.

I became severely deaf so I do not hear my neighbors at all, but when I have my hearing aids in I am more aware of how much noise I make and think that it could upset others. Now I am older and a bit crotchety. I really do not care. Live and Let Live. Right!

I find wearing my headphones and listening to podcasts or ambient music, even just white noise as I go about my daily tasks is good, gives my mind something to focus on. Listening to podcast conversations, people talking helps me to feel like I have company when I feel lonely.

I wish you well. Be patient and gentle with yourself.

Great honored to hear that, the words you said are meaningful to me,I find much common things in us,such as the personality. And I imagined about what life would be becoming blind and deaf, would it be better?Would the anxiety disappears?I tried listenning to music with my headphones at home, but the noise got louder after then,I was frightened and became anxious to put my headphones on.

I understand the feeling. Sometimes when I am really anxious, I think things are about me when they are not. It is possible that the neighbor is having a bad day and their actions are raising your anxiety level. Thinking that it is about you is a way for your mind to have some control. At least that is how it works for me.

Hi I don't think I quite understand either. How does your neighbour know when you are nervous and anxious. Do you yell or scream or bang around the place or something? Do you go round and want to talk to him or what?

Sorry to reply after this long,it's a strange thought,I did nothing literally, I relate my nervous feeling to the noise made by neighbours, and it became worse that I tend to get nervous when any kinds of noise occurs.

Have you tried physical meditation? By that I mean something like focused breathing or slow yoga or even Pilates? There are lots of free online videos for this. I can find a rec if it would help. The benefits are infinite. You could either do it when you feel anxious or you could schedule it or both.

I don't think I could do that,I would force myself into keeping completely still(like completely quiet and stops any moves) when I become nervous.Maybe I have OCD too
