Hi my name is Sean and I'm on disability for bipolar generalized anxiety ADHD in borderline personality disorder. I always thought that my bipolar but the culprit of me feeling bad I've been to mental institutions and nothing really worked but I never specified that my anxiety with what needed to be taken care of. I see a therapist and a psychiatrist that prescribe drugs including Xanax. I get to 1 mg Xanax a day but it's not enough and I know I'm not supposed to be on it for my whole life but it does work. If somebody can help me find a place to go and get help I'd really appreciate it I live in Boston Massachusetts and I have MassHealth and Medicare I'm willing to do anything this hurts too much it's ruining my life

My generalized anxiety is controlling my life.
Call your health care provider ask to speak to a behavioral specialist. They can guide you to the right program within your network. I’ve done just that and meet with my New healthcare team this afternoon. Prayers to you.
Thank you for your advice but the psychiatrist I go to isn't that I guess I want to say informed in anxiety. I need to go to a place that specializes in anxiety and when I call my insurance I get the runaround I'm telling you it's hard to get help when you'd really need it and it's had to help yourself when you don't feel good
Does your insurance have a web site. If so search for a participating dr or clinic and call them. Or just search the web in your area. Don’t give up trying.
tfry1, that's what I'm doing I'm looking all over the web in making connections without you guys I don't know what I do I really look up to you guys. This is not easy
No it’s not I’m fighting the same battle. I have a phobia of hospitals and had to have a precancerous tumor remove and that has triggered my depression and anxiety. Thank God the tumor was benign.
Thank God. I'm happy for you
Look we are here for each other it actually helps me to chat with someone. So even though I am giving you me opinions it helps me as well.
I'm the same way but when I have anxiety it's hard to help somebody else. I can give someone the best advice but I never take that advice. I know you're going through a lot and I do hope everything works out for you you seem like a great person
I know the feeling I just want to regain my life and get back to doing my job which I love to do.
The worst thing I did was get on disability for bipolar and my mental illnesses. Because now I'm stuck I didn't go to college and I'm never going to get a job that pays me everything that the state gives me right away and all I do is sit home and wine my wheels in my head. The best thing to do when you have a mental illness is to be social like working that's my downfall I'm very very a loner. My bedroom windows I blocked out and I know that's the worst thing I can do but for some reason it makes me feel safe
Try looking for a church with an outreach program. It won’t mess with your benefits as a volunteer. You will find a group of caring people who will support you and you can give your time to them in return.
I need to first get this anxiety under control because when I'm hurting nothing matters and everything else takes a back seat, it doesn't matter how important it is, when I'm in a episode I don't care about anything
Yes unfortunately that is how it controls you. My anxiety seem to have subsided for now but the depression is what is hurting me now.
My Bipolor has been ok, but when my anxiety is bad I get depressed. If you don't mind me asking what are you doing to help yourself
I am meeting with a behavioral hospital today for an assessment. My therapist feels I need more than once a week. This place has an intensive out patient program as well as in patient services. I need something because what I have been doing is not working. Sad and in physical pain all the time. Even now I am crying trying to help you.
I am so sorry to hear how bad you are having anxiety. I know from experience how overwhelming and paralyzing it can be. While i have taken xanax in the past, i found that increasing my depression meds actually helped to control my anxiety the most. I have been on meds for approx 20 years. Started with prozac, then effexor, now cymbalta. I felt a huge improvement in my anxiety after my cymbalta was increased. In my experience the depression and anxiety always go hand in hand........... i pray that you will feel better soon....i think many of us have felt many of the same things you are experiencing now, but the solution is not the same for everyone....
