Hi- I'm new here and wanted to share a little about how I am feeling to see if anyone feels the same way.

Does anyone else have to say "I love you" to a loved one(s) every night because you feel like they are going to die in the night and you want that to be the last thing you say to them?

I say that to my mom and younger brother.

I don't really remember the first time I did it, I feel like it has been a few years.

(TW: school shootings)

After there was all of those school shootings in the United States.

I also say "I love you" before I leave for school because I have a fear that my brother is going to die from a school shooting. There hasn't been any school shootings in my state so I don't know why I always am afraid.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

I hope you have a great day/night :)

I always say I love you to my parents because I don’t know when they are going to die but I always say that because it makes my parents and me happy

Hi writer365, that's not a bad habit to get into telling those we love "I love you".

(and try not to attach the words, in case they should die) As Hb2003 stated, she says it because it makes her parents and her happy.

Think of it that way first and should something happen one day, you will not live with the regret in not having told someone you loved them. :) xx

You are such a great person. There is nothing wrong with what you are doing. Do you know the people you tell that to feel very special to you. That word is amazing, I often tell it to my friends no matter who. It is so powerful, don't stop saying it, in fact say it to me as well, I won't mind😁😁. I know it fear and that is the problem but it is understandable your fear is justified. I hope it doesn't cripple you in any way but don't stop telling em you love em. Welcome... We love you too

Dear writer365, I do the same thing but not because I think my loved ones will die, but if they do pass on that would be the last thing I said to them. It does make me happy to tell my loved ones that I love them. We have no idea when others or even when we will pass on from this life. I pray that my loved ones will sense my love for them as well. I also pray for their safety, but again we have no idea when others will die. It is also important to show them your love while they are here. Praying that you will find peace.
