Anxiety sick pain

So yesterday I was able to get my second Covid vaccine and honestly I was really nervous about it. I’d heard about all the side effects and people getting really sick and it scared the absolute crap out of me. Being sick is a trigger for my anxiety so this is all I’ve thought about since I got the vaccine was getting sick. So far The only side effects I’ve had are sore arm from the vaccine and some pain in my arm pit. I’ve had what I call a baby fever of like 99 at times but nothing over that. Since I noticed the armpit pain though I’ve felt off. Idk if it’s anxiety or maybe side effects but it’s like I turn my head and it’s like I can feel my heart beating in my head for a second and then it stops it’s really weird. Idk if it’s anxiety(I assume that it is) but I’m just really freaked out. Like I don’t feel sick other than that, but literally anything makes me freaked out that I could have the virus. I’m hoping when I wake up I feel better but I could use some advice or encouragement

Hi Msheatherlady, I understand that many people not only have a sore arm but also some pain from the lymph node under the arm. Congratulations on getting your second shot.

You did very well. They say that those who feel a little discomfort means that the shot took and is protecting them. Wishing you a goodnight's sleep. Feel better in the morning :) xx

Hi there. The symptoms you mention are perfectly normal reaction to a vaccine. That's a good thing! It is working. In terms of feeling a little off, that is normal as well. This is called "sickness behavior". It's an evolutionary adaption which encourages us to rest and recover. So, all is well. Happy you were able to get vaccinated.
