CBD OILS FOR ANXIETY

Hello everyone,

I am new to the group, and excited to join. I hope I can help others, just as you all can help me. I originally joined the group because I needed a group to do my school project on. However, I also suffer from untreated anxiety and depression. So, does my 5 year old son. I thought this would be a great opportunity to join a group like this so maybe I can learn some things that work for others that we could possibly give a try and better our situations.

I have some days that are better than others but, most days just seem blah. Covid isn't helping the situation either. I'm sure it's a tough time for a lot of us out there at the moment. Just trying to get by anyway and every way we can. I honestly probably need to go see a doctor, but I refuse to be on medication. It's hard to handle depression and anxiety any other way than medication, but I've been giving everything a shot. I have tried talking to a therapist, I found it helped by feeling better for just being able to tell somebody my "issues" but other than that and in the long run it was no longer working. I have tried CBD oils and I can't seem to find one I like and that actually works. This is a reason why I actually came to you guys. What CBD out there works for anxiety and what works for depression? Doesn't have to be cbd, it can be anything that works for you guys? Please tell me.

My son is going through the process of evaluation and getting set up for counseling. I'm hoping that it works for him and I also find peace within the situation. It has been hard working with all that I am and still trying to give what I do have left my all. It's not easy being a mother, wife, and student struggling with everyday anxiety and depression. It's also not easy taking care of a child who struggles from it also, but somehow we manage. I know for me to continue to be the mother and wife I was supposed to be, I need help and I need it now. Medication is literally my last resort but the more I think about it, it may be my only option left.

I hope everyone has a good day, week, months ahead and years to come. Everyone suffering from anxiety and depression, were not alone, we can do this! Were in it together!

Hi! I used to struggle with anxiety and depression so I fully understand what you are going through. You are not alone btw millions of people suffer especially in these times of Covid. How can you help yourself? Well there are many resources out there. You just have to look. I was able to get through anxiety and depression through talk therapy. I was able to understand why I was experiencing this and learned a lot about myself. There are ways of coping. Meditation, exercise, yoga, and supportive people all help. You can also look into reading materials about how to cope from professionals who are in the field of helping others who struggle with this. With that being said, you can do this. You can get through it in time. Good luck to you and btw this community rocks so use it!

Hi I don't think it's a good idea to give your child cbd oil I think fish.oil capsules for omega 3 would be most beneficial try to buy Atlantic fish oil capsules you could have a cod liver oil capsules , the omega 3 is proven to help brain health , going for walks in nature is good for you both also what about a cat for your son ?

Always consult a doctor before making any major adjustments for child care or your own health. Vitamin s and oils can be good but also not necessary. Not ridiculing just saying a doctor is always the first go to.

I understand your suffering when it comes to anxiety. I have struggled with severe anxiety for 8 years now. I know how hard it is. I would say give therapy another shot. there is more than just talk therapy. I would look into CBT cognitive behavioral therapy. It's really useful for anxiety. Also, practice mindfulness. It really does help when you can recognize the thoughts that cause you anxiety. It allows you to think about the situation rationally and just experience the anxiety rather than spiraling and making it worse. I hope that made sense.

I agree. My meds for anxiety have been pretty helpful but the coping skills I've learned have been life savers. Therapy for depression seems like it takes forever but it's worth it when you can finally retrain some of those ways of thinking so you don't immediately go to the worst place.

Exactly! learning to retrain you thoughts is way more important because that is how you truly master anxiety. That isn't to say meds can't be useful in helping with this goal. But the goal should always be to overcome the thoughts and thought patterns. Otherwise you are more just treating the symptoms rather than the issue.

Hi.It looks like a lot of struggle... I am sorry to hear that.

Hi Rhianna. I completely understand your current situation. I have not tried CBD for anxiety, but I'm currently considering this kind of treatment for my anxiety and depression issues.I was applying as a volunteer patient for a psilocybin treatment, but after some screening tests, I was diagnosed with a possible bipolar disorder, which has been really hard to accept. I'm almost 34 years old, and I'm aware that I've been dealing with many anxieties and panic attacks all my life, with no treatments nor medication. I'm refusing to be medicated, and so far I've been talking to a therapist, practicing meditation, and training myself to accept this condition. I'd love to learn about how CBD and some psychedelics can help to improve these conditions, and so far, what I know is that we also need therapies, and discipline with the sleeping time, food, and self-acceptance. I'm a strong believer in the power of plants and psychedelics to heal and help in mental issues, but at the same time, I've discovered that there is also hard work that needs to be done from our inner self to cope with our minds.

CBD hasn't really helped me and yeah I've tried different kinds and doses for sleep or anxiety. I do get a prescription for Xanax when I have middle of the night anxiety or can't sleep. I also had a therapist who helped a lot but she has since retired and in the meantime I've been reading self help books, CBT behavior therapy, meditation ,and anything else that seems to help ,,, working on changing your thought pattern will be a constant struggle but that's the main key like everyone says

How are you there,

Welcome to the group. If there is one thing I can assure you is that you have come to the right group. It feels bad that you are going through this situation but we are here for you. We are all here for support and everyone is getting it here. I hear that you and your son are suffering from depression. As bad as it is, at least your son has someone older who understands it. Anyone with depression needs people who understands it. As much as we are worried about you, we are more worried about our son there because he does not understand what is going on with himself and having you by his side is the best thing. While it might annoying to others who does not have and understands it, you will be there for him and not find it annoying. All in all, welcome to the group, you will be getting the support you need.

You are doing the right things! Just NERVE give up. Depression can "run" in families. Two of my 4 younger brothers also have it. And, anxiety frequently accompanies depression. Boy, can I tell you!

I understand your struggle since I suffer from the same issues. I finally had to go with medication, after trying therapy and exercise I still had horrible anxiety. I hope you find this group supportive. You are not alone with your problems and I hope you find peace

hello there, great to have you and read your story.

IMO, psychotropic drugs are good to keep as a last resort. I was on them for many years and developed various side effects and began developing very bad habits (began drinking and smoking). I finally decided to go off (one must taper very slow) and make many changes and that helped me a lot. For some the drugs are great and for me they helped for a while but over time some not so pleasant side effects began and also drugs have a tendency to do things like change neuroreceptors, metabolism, etc.

Some things that really helped me with anxiety and depression: clean diet (Wahls protocol/paleo); acupuncture; certain b-vitamins like p5p/b6 and others; digestive support and gut care (like certain probiotics and HCL); talk therapy; daily meditation (calm app); exercise; breathwork; etc .

I also use cbd I get from Oregon. They use the whole plant and research shows that using the whole plant is a better approach than CBD isolates because the cannabinoids work together synergestically. Its akin to nutrients working together (like A and D for ex). I think its a great help but only use it a few days of the week.

Digestive health and diet are super important to address as well as having a way to express and talk about how you feel. I used online CBT therapy which was super affordable and also using a journal helps tons.

Please keep your head up and know that you CAN get better and you CAN feel better!

Hello Rhianna39. Before reading. Always ask your doctor if you should try legal hemp CBD. I just have personal experience. Anyways here we go. Given that Hemp Derived CBD was federally legalized in 2018 as an agricultural commodity the cbd market is very massive right now. Covid put a bit of a damper on local public businesses but the companies that manufacture seem to be doing well. I have suffered from OCD and Anxiety since I was 8 years old. I have had to go off my real anxiety and depression meds as of late because of covid making my doctor stop his practice. My only saving grace has been CBD. The thing about CBD is it works best for most in a wholeplant broadspectrum extract. There is snake oil cbd out there. You have to find a legit quality product. For instance Having all the plant and hemp compounds there increases it’s effectiveness. Also taking a product that is hemp derived is key as marijuana derived is federally illegal and the extra THC in the marijuana derived can induce panic, rapid thoughts and anxiety. To each and their own. Staying legal is key. For me sticking to broadspectrum hemp derived cbd has worked well for me. The entourage effect is well documented with broadspectrum hemp. It has all the compounds working in tandum for total effect also known as the Entourage Effect. Ive tried a lot of brands. The one that helps the most for me is Hemplucid. They are a company who offers a lot of legal hemp products. Their whole plant water soluble 500mg 30ml tincture is a great place to start. Less than .3% Delta 9 THC. The other thing to keep in mind is taking products that are properly decarboxylated. Some off the shelf products are not and they do not absorb. Decarboxylated means the cbd has been heated to the point it turns into small rapidly absorbable particles. Raw CBD straight from hemp is CBDa. It is in an acid form that has particles too big to be absorbed into the blood. When it is decarboxylated it absorbs into your blood stream and you can take a proper dose and feel the effects while getting your moneys worth. If trace THC being in the tincture is a huge concern they sell tincture that is THC free. Hemplucids is called KOI. Companies even sell CBD isolate tincture. But since its bare CBD it loses its Entourage Effect.

For me one serving under the tongue within 20-30 minutes slows and quiets the mind. Anxiety fades. It takes inflamation away like ibuprofin but better. OCD thoughts slow. I can disregard my thoughts. It helps me sleep better. Also since I take a tincture I notice a huge reduction in my gastric inflamation.

Always ask your doctor first. As I said I just have personal experience. There are tons of good brands out there. Not repping any particular one. Hemplucid, Secret Nature CBD, Charlottes Web.

Hope it works out.

I don’t know nothing that would help depression though. Does your son ever pray is there anything specific he’s depressed about.
