Hello everyone! I'm new here, I just joined because I have been feeling low, I think I had depression in the past although didn't go to the doctors so I guess it was a mild one. Now I feel a bit like in that time. Tried to talk to my partner but I think he is kinda overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do, sometimes he gets angry, but I understand it is confusing for him. It would be great if anyone has some advice. Thank you all!

Hello welcome 🙏 this community is amazing the people are super kind and understanding also you should join positive wellbeing for self isolation it has lots of fun interactive posts and some humorous ones as well ☺️
Welcome. Glad you reached out. We all try to look out for one another. But of course none of the advice we give should replace a doctor's diagnosis and advice. It's a good idea to visit a doctor and get an idea of what you're dealing with if you're not sure
hi this is shnookie the advice U received from the other group members is excellent. This is the time for self-care. Please seek out a therapist and then see if U might need meds for what is going on in your life now. The fact that you have reached out to us is excellent. But you do need a professional diagnosis And your partner needs to be kept in the loop so that he can be supportive of you during this challenging time in our world. I'm here 4 U Hugs

Welcome to HU. You will find this forum very helpful as people here understand the struggles with Depression and Anxiety. Have you been to a doctor recently to discuss your depression?
For me my depression was partially chemical and the other part was related to how I dealt with circumstances. What worked for me is finding a medication to help get my chemicals balanced and working with a counselor to understand better coping strategies. I do recommend you try to talk with a counselor.
I have learned two strategies that have been helpful for me.
The 557 breathing technique is take 5 deep breaths in while thinking good thoughts about yourself like I matter, I am special, I am strong and then hold the breaths for the count of 7 focusing on those words about yourself, then let out the breath slowly for 5 seconds letting go of any anxious, self-defeating, unhealthy thought. I do this one to three times a sitting. The gratitude journal is writing down something good every morning and night something that went well in the day, or something I appreciate about myself. Taking our focus off of the anxiety and depression and focusing on positive uplifting things really helps. What you think is what you believe. So thinking uplifting things you believe those things but the reverse is true - thinking negative self-defeating things, you will believe those. I will be praying for you. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat. Hugs and God Bless
