New Medicine

so i just picked up my Paxil 10mg and i’m gonna start taking it tomorrow morning, i’m really scared i’ve never been on an antidepressant and the side effect sound horrifying, not only that it doesn’t help people say this is the “drug from hell” it’s jus increasing the anxiety that i’m trying to treat😞idk what’s gonna happen and i’m scared, i don’t expect it to cure me but i’m scared it’s gonna make me feel worse..wish me luck, any support, advice and reassurance is greatly appreciated!

Hello hope that you are well once you get on a new medication the side effects will get bothersome when you first use it but then your body will get used to it and then you won’t feel the side effects as much

Hi celestw, it sounds like you read the enclosed pamphlet or checked with Dr. Google regarding your medication. Not the best of choices especially when you are anxious.

I'm going to give you some advice. When starting on a new medication, it is best to take it with an open mind. After all, it was prescribed by your doctor who knows your health history and has your best interest in mind.

Take the first pill when someone is around, let them know. Write down the name of the drug, the dosage and the time you took it. Then....go on with your day. Don't look for anything to happen...the medicine knows what to do and how to help you.

It is not a magical pill, so give it time to change the chemistry in your brain 4-6 weeks is about normal. (especially if the dosage is raised during that time)

Do not compare notes with another person who is on it or has been on it. Give this med

100% of your belief that it will work and you will feel better because of it.
