I’m new to this site and this is a bit delicate. Please tell me if I need to remove this. I’m absolutely worried sick. Back in October I got a n infection. I was given antibiotics which did nothing. I was then given an anti fungal steroid cream. This cleared my problem in 3 days. When I stopped the cream the infection which I now know as balanitis returned. I was told by my doctor to use the cream again for 1 week. After that I was clear for a week then it came back again. I went back to my doctor again. This time he did a swab which proved that the infection was caused by thrush due to being diabetic. I was given a strong steroid anti fungal cream to use constantly for 3 weeks then immediately go onto a plain anti fungal cream for 3 months. I’m 2 months into this treatment. What is making me worried and depressed is my doctor told me if this doesn’t clear I may need to be circumcised. I really don’t want to be circumcised. I have been reading the pros and cons and this has made me really scared. I can’t sleep with worry when I do fall asleep I dream that I’m being circumcised. So realistic that when I wake up I have to check that I haven’t been. I can’t concentrate on anything . My wife is so supportive but I just can’t get it out of my head or get my mind round it. I’m just praying that I will be clear after the 3 months but just feel it is always in the back of my mind.

My post was edited by the admin for using the proper words for my genitalia. Will I message you in case I get in trouble?

You need to "let it go" and do what the doctors tell you to do. Try letting go your feelings of control and just do what they advise you to do for the good of your health. Focus on your spirituality and the love of your family and friends.

I can’t let it go. I don’t want the operation. Not when it can affect the rest of my life.

Your anxiety is high and it sounds like your very focused on the what if like it won't work. Theres one whole month left to go for it to clear up and your doctor is treating it aggressively to help you become healthy again. Your wife sounds wonderful and is supportive. How about positive self talk or maybe a call to a warm helpline or talking with your pastor?? Have you shared your thoughts and concerns with your wife? Its ok if you need to talk to another person too. I hope everything works out well for you.

I had balanitis. It is not life threatening or anything that serious. It is just annoying/inconvenient having to put on cream over and over. Mine would go away and come back. I just got circumcised. I didn't have to. I just chose to. Roller coaster of emotions and paranoia after looking at penis hourly, lol. Only you can decide if you want to go through with it. To me, balanitis in and of itself is not a huge reason to get cut. It was a factor for me but I already wanted to get cut even before my balanitis issues just out of personal choice. And for some reason I cant respond to your messages. Must be our mighty overseeing admins monitoring us as usual, LOL.
