hi guys👋🏽 can anyone else share their experiences on taking SSRI’s like their first time taking them, getting off of it, while on it etc, and MORE specifically experiences on Paxil.

i have just recently been prescribed Paxil to help treat my generalized anxiety and also help my blood pressure because my anxiety is contributing in spiking my bp. (i am on blood pressure meds too and treated pretty well except my anxiety) At first i thought it would help me but after looking at reviews and people’s experiences they’re saying it’s a horrible drug and i should not take it all, some people are comparing the withdrawal symptoms to getting off HEROIN....therefore i have not taken the medication yet because i am too scared...what should i do? i’ve tried Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but i didn’t rlly work, i didn’t connect with my therapist that much, and i only ever saw her once a month :/, as of now i’ve been out of therapy for months, i’m really scared of taking this medication, everyone i know is telling me not to take it...gosh this a horrible situation

I’ve taken an SSRI for a couple of years now. It sometimes makes me sleepy and it makes me have long, vivid, boring dreams. I’ve gone off it for a couple of months in the past with no withdrawal symptoms.

I started on 5 mg of lexapro and moved up to 10 mg. No bad experiences starting or stopping or going up a dose or going down a dose.
