I have been taking Zoloft for over 14 years. I started at 25 mg and have increased over the years to 150mg. It certainly helps me manage both depression and anxiety.

If your anxiety is severe, please don’t be afraid to try Zoloft.

Remember, you are not alone. Stay in touch.

Hi purple_heart22You are not alone. That's something I wouldn't wish for my worst enemy. We have to give continuous effort to keep ourselves above the water if we suffer from depression, anxiety etc.If you like reading I would highly recommend the book "Feeling Good"by Dr.David Burns. There are very good coping mechanisms .We will do it , we will come over it ...

Message anytime. Again, you are not alone. Try the Zoloft if that is what your doctor recommends. You can do it.

Since you had a bad reaction to lexapro it would be good for you to take the genetic test to find the right meds for you without going through trial and error.

Hi, what is the genetic testing? How do you have it done? Thanks for responding.

They test your DNA and compare it to the database to see what antidepressants will work best for you. There are different companies but one is called GeneSight. I found out about it on this forum. People say the test is very accurate and they are able to find meds without any side effects.

Ask your doctor about it - mention your reaction to Lexapro. I heard that insurance may cover it too.

What are the side effects of Zoloft.

I have been on Zoloft for 25 years. On 200mg per day. It is a blessing. Saved my life.. No side affects. I do not feel as if I am taking anything. I take lorazapam for Anxiety attacks. I take it as needed. They put me on Xanax 20 years ago and it interacted with the Zoloft and caused a Anxiety attack that lasted 2 1/2 months. Xanax is very bad stuff, at least for me. Good luck

Hey, I saw you didn't do well on Lexapro, I didn't either, made me feel like a zombie and didn't do squat for my anxiety/depression. However, I'm currently on Zoloft now, 100 mg dose, and I'm doing pretty good on it. I'm taking it for depression, anxiety, and OCD. My depression has improved considerably, I don't feel so hopeless and overwhelmed anymore. My anxiety is still there, but it has decreased, especially my social anxiety. The OCD hasn't changed much, but I do think that I can manage my symptoms better now that I'm not so depressed. No major side effects except that I've noticed an increase in my acne since starting. Obviously meds react differently for all of us, but I'd say give the Zoloft a try. I was very hesitant to try another med after the Lexapro, but I'm glad I did.

I am taking 100mg of Zoloft, the brand, not the generic Sertraline. The brand is very expensive in the USA, $352 for a 30 Day supply. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

However, I get them from Canada, where a 90 day supply costs $124.

It took 7 weeks to see results, but I fought through the side effects, and so glad I stuck it out.

My anxiety and panic attacks are completely gone, and I feel great once again.

If you decide to take it, make sure you request the brand and not the generic, as the generic is terrible.

I use the pharmacy on Canada called Prescription Point, and they are very reputable.

You can have your doctor write the script and he must specify DAW, Dispense as Written to insure you get the brand.

It saved my life....

Good Luck....

I personally didn't like it. I felt like a zombie, emotionless. The only med I've tried I did like was Prozac. No side effects and felt pretty good. But everyones body chemistry is different so try it (have to give it a few months) and see how you feel. Alter dosage if needed or move onto something else if you find it doesn't help. Good luck!
