Pregabalin and weight gain

Has anybody experienced weight gain on Pregabalin for GAD? I'm on a 150mgs. It works wonders for me already but 9 days in and I feel the weight coming on. Thanks!

Hi and welcome! This is a common complaint with Lyrica. I am on a low dose for my Restless Legs Syndrome. I haven't noticed weight gain and I think it's because of the low dose. I have heard that those on higher doses (greater than 100mg) have a problem with this.

Hiya, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I put on 2 and a half stone on pregabalin.

And what was the dose you were on?

150mg I think it was. Came off them for that reason x

Did your eating habits change or was it water retention and slowed metabolism?

I was never full so probably did eat more so then the weight gain made mobility and energy worse, but might not be the same for you x

When I start eating I have an appetite but before that I'm usually not hungry and have had gastric sleeve. The scale isn't changing yet the inches are coming on and how my weight sits is very differently, jeans are ultra tight, so this worries me. Do you know why I'd be getting inches and no weight gain... yet? Thanks!

Who knows? I think you just have to weigh up what's most important to you- I have other problems so for me the weight gain outweighed the benefits. X
