On May 17th 2007 I sat down to engage in some meditation, one of the first times I had ever tried doing so. I had recently a chapter in a book about meditation and it briefly described the process, so I gave it a try. I even remember that I was listening to Aerial Boundaries by Michael Hedges, an appropriately hippyish song. I began focusing introspectively as suggested in the book and I believe I “opened my third eye”, or experienced “enlightenment”. Whatever you choose to call it, it was a bizarre and intense experience. I felt a funny pressure in my head, felt like my identity or “ego” had disappeared and I felt very blissful. It’s hard to describe.
With the daily pressures of work and life of I’ve never put much effort into replicating this experience and I never have, but I will never forget it. I’m wondering if anyone else regularly meditates and have experienced something similar?

Hi it sounds like your 3rd eye chakra opened,I do reiki and opening and balancing chakras helps mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It might be worth going on a reiki course ,the healing can be very powerful and I've had some amazing experiences personally and with others. You can experience this again and more.
Hi yes meditation is different thing,I do reiki on myself and meditate too,but you can still be aware of the chakras whilst in meditation as you did with your third eye.
