You have to pick one thing to do that you can't do that involves going outside. You have to put up with the extremely bad feelings that you are going to have and do it anyway. You are going to suffer and just accept that.
You don't have to do a good job of it. Just that you tried consider that a 100% Success. I went to the park two days in a row doing this. I thought I was going to die, but I did it. I'll do it again tomorrow and will post it.
And I agree, you are being a good girl -

Hi it’s Shnookie. I’ve been instructed and use the principles of CBT. It breaks an issue down that might be bothering U into pieces
when U see it in pieces it’s easier to understand and gives U a greater coping mechanism. It’s not a 100% foolproof but
it has helped me and reduced some of my anxiety and stress. Please don’t
angst over this Keep an open mind. It does take practice but little by little it can help U
I’m in your corner hugs 🤗 Shnookie
Hi there! It's very natural to feel this apprehension or anxiety around starting CBT for the first time. Back in 2011, I was also suffering from severe panic disorder and agoraphobia. I couldn't even watch movies or TV because I would start to feel secondary panic just seeing the characters in group settings or outside their homes.
I was in high school at the time, still going to school but kept begging my parents to let me switch to an online high school. They refused and said I needed to be in-person. I held a lot of resentment for that, and that's when I decided to try therapy.
It definitely will take some time to start feeling the effects of CBT. I think the biggest misconception I had was that I would feel soooooo much better after just one session, and that is often not the case. Just try to be patient with yourself and allow for as much time as it takes. You might not recognize the small steps towards progress at first, but it will happen eventually, whether through CBT or a different treatment.
I never thought I would graduate high school, but I did, and went on to receive a bachelor's degree as well! I'm currently in grad school for counseling, which is something I never thought would happen in my darkest days. It hasn't been all sunshine since then, but learning to show yourself compassion can make a world of difference!
I’ve been agoraphobic for 12 years since my house burned down..
Now I’m at the park feeding the ducks and eating peanut m+m’s, listening to music and walking around our huge lake.
Why don’t You ever get back to me if you really want to improve ???

I'm so glad to read your post!!! I swore I was alone on this!!! I too have severe anxiety and panic disorder where I cant leave apt. I have nobody to help me so I have to force myself to get groceries and go to dr appts. It's so horrifying having to go anywhere!!! I literally shake it's so bad. Plus its humiliating due to how much I sweat. It drips off my face and hair gets soaked. Ppl stare like I'm some kind of freak of nature. So that makes my sheer panic a million times worse. I sure hope you get better as i know how hard this is!!!!
