It's funny. When I first started seeking help, professionals and everyday people alike told me to build a support group for myself. Told me to be unafraid of opening up to friends and family. That they would be open to helping...
It's funny. That would be like if you were drowning and screamed at another drowning person for help. My friends are gone. My family is drowning. The world outside would look more glamorous if I could breathe.
What support group? There's absolutely nothing here. Nothing at all.
I suppose, though, I am ready to try another community.

Oh do I hear you N-Zale ... in my case it was that family and friends didn't have a clue
to what Anxiety or Agoraphobia was all about. I knew I either had to swim or drown alone. There wasn't a support system like this at the time. I did notice that one day, I turned around and everyone was gone. They had given up on me but I wasn't about to give up on myself.
I'm glad that you are willing to give our community a try. I've been on here 5 years now and have never seen a more helpful, caring group of men and women from all around the world, ready to extend themselves even in their pain, to help another.
So Zale, here we are ready to understand and comfort you whenever you need that friend xx
Thank you for your kind reply. Honestly, the "but I wasn't about to give up on myself" is incredibly inspiring and kind of how I feel deep down inside. I really hope - and am open to - finding support and understanding here. Which, I suppose, I am already finding. Thank you again.
Hello and welcome. My family tries to be supportive but cannot understand anxiety and depression because they don't experience it. But here there are many kind hearted people who understand because they experience many of the same feelings. We do our best to support each other.
