First, I'm very glad to join the forum. I have an autoimmune condition so I've been around a while, but never thought to look for a forum like this. So, a bit about me. I've had a lifelong battle with anxiety disorders starting at around 3 years old. Some I've been able to work out myself, like working on pretty severe social anxiety for years Now, I'm the outgoing social person I was born to be. Anxiety, however, is a continuing theme in my life. I've had several bouts of severe, diabling depression. I also have bipolar disorder, which is nicely controlled with medication. Had 2 bouts of mania, the first in my early 40's. The biggest thing I consistently battle is anxiety.

Sorry to hear that, thanks for opening up, I've had many similar feelings in my time. I just joined the forum too. What breed is your dog?
Welcome to the forum! I hope you find it helpful, there is plenty of support to go around here. I'm glad you were able to overcome your social anxiety, I'm working on mine currently, but it's hard with social distancing. I'm always here to listen so don't hesitate to message!😊
Concentrate on the wonderful fact that you worked out the social anxiety and you are now the outgoing social person you were always meant to be!!!!! Awesome!!!!
I sure can relate to horrendous, almost, if not daily depression...lots of anxiety. It's quite the burden, isn't it? So glad to know the bi-polar depression is controlled with medication.
That anxiety is a bugger!!!!
I can relate to all that you wrote. And I'm sending you miles and miles and miles of support.
I have two angelic dogs. Tell me all about your dog!!!
Thinking of you!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sending you support too. Thank you for thinking of me! My dog is Shih Tzu. My constant companion. Animals are wonderful arent they? What kind of dogs are yours?
Love Shih Tzu breed.....
Animals ARE the best!!!!!
I have a 5 lb, white, magical, Einstein smart, 5 year old Tea Cup female Poodle and a rescue...said she's a Yorkie-Poo...I can surely see the Poodle face but no Yorkie. She's 4, 11 lbs., and has a brutal history...beyond brutal. Have had her for 4 years, and with 100% devotional adoration, she is my loyal shadow. But the brutality she endured still shows at times. I've had dogs all my life...and adored all of them. Have to say that these darlings are truly unbelievable.
They save my life repeatedly.
The poor thing. She's so lucky to have you. And you, her of course! Your Einstein must be adorable. What a tiny thing. Can't imagine life without a dog. My boy is 14 lbs. so I can pick him up and he can be beside me. I had sweet girl, half basset hound and half red heeler, who I lost in 2014. She got me through the worst period of my life. She was 45 lbs. and so wanted to be a lap dog.
Welcome!! I struggle with anxiety and depression too.
Ditto, it is strange that the two go hand in hand, I also have PTSD added to the equation and some days feel as if I am going quite mad. Glad you have a little doggie in your life - we sadly lost ours just over a year ago and still miss him terribly. Take care of yourself x
