Continuous headaches

For the last couple of weeks I have been suffering from continuous headaches. Common painkillers are no longer working for me and it seems the pain is becoming chronic.

I don't know if it is fibromyalgia or it is because I have had personal problems and I have very stressed and tired. Do any of you suffer from a headache that doesn't go away with medication?

Micafe, looking back at your most recent posts seems like the headaches started with the passing of your friend as well as your cousin being in ICU. I remember you crying each and every day which in itself can cause muscle contraction headaches. I know because I once

suffered from intense, daily headaches. I learned quickly that pain medication, even OTC

ones cannot be used daily or they result in "rebound" headaches.

I too have Fibro and was more prone to headaches then the average person. However, since we are not doctors, it would be best you see your GP regarding these headaches.

When pain interferes with your life and no longer responds to meds, it's time to get

a professional opinion.

Meanwhile because of your recent losses, I would suggest until you get an appointment that you make sure you give yourself some "me time" every day. Time where you can sit quietly and breathe and meditate. I never take pain medication. I have found going to YouTube and finding a Meditation that is for a headache, can be just as effective in listening to it.

I hope you get some relief soon. :) xx

micafe;

i see that Agora1 gave you some really good information about OTC drugs, as well as recommending meditation, as did i in a previous reply to you...

.

i have another suggestion for pain relief. it's cannabis (pot). don't know where you live, or if you can legally acquire - but there is something that is 100% legal wherever you are.

it's one of the components in cannabis - called CBD. it's one of the MANY non-psychoactive chemicals in pot - and it's a "miracle" for the relief of some pains.

the best thing about pot, and CBD; it's been time tested for 1000's of years, and no significant side effects have been associated with it. it's non-addictive, and safe - if you obtain it from reputable sources.

there are a number of credible sources - all of which do 1 thing: they engage in 3rd party lab testing and verification of their product to ensure it contains what it says - and not anything else it shouldnt. i can recommend 1 that i've looked into, and approve of - it's called bluebird botanicals. i have no connection to them other than a customer.

i'd suggest giving CBD a try first - because it's like taking aspirin - you don't notice you've taken anything - except for the beneficial results.

if CBD alone isn't enough - then you may want to explore cannabis "proper". the psychoactive chemical in pot is THC. and in the area of pain relief - CBD, when taken with small amounts of THC has shown much greater success in pain management, than CBD alone. Note that you do NOT need to take so much THC that you get high, in order to see enhanced pain relief.

there are many forms of these products, and different ratio's and types available. there are suggestions on which to use for what; but in the end, you may have to experiment with different combinations to see what's best for you. my #1 suggestion is this - whatever the "recommended dosage" is - start out small. you may not need as much as the recommendation, and the only way to know is start small and work up.

my mom suffers from fibromyalgia, as well as severe back pain. she's experienced significant improvement from CBD alone, and on really bad days, a little THC gives her more relief.

i did a fair bit of research in order to advise her... so if you have other questions, i may be able to help...
