How to sleep easy
Hi and welcome! I'm sorry you deal with insomnia. I have sleep issues as well and it really stinks.
Have you heard about the recommended sleep hygiene things?
-keep the bedroom at a cooler temperature than the rest of the house.
-make sure it's completely dark when you're sleeping
-don't have LED or any other artificial lights in the bedroom
-keep a set sleep schedule
There are also some books about insomnia and sleep in general that I can recommend if you're interested.🙂
Ditto .... xx
Nice! Have you heard the one entitled "Why We Sleep" by Matthew Walker? It's pretty good and has a big section on the two most common sleep disorders: insomnia and the one that shift workers commonly get that I can't remember the name of. There is even a small section on RLS, which is one of the ones that I have. Whenever I read this to my legs I include the word Don't so it becomes "Why We Don't Sleep: The Legs and RLS".🤪
Thanks MinnieMouse, it's my daughter who rarely ever sleeps. With her it has to do with her cell phone attached to her hand. She has it on and by her side 24/7.
She has already developed Fibromyalgia from sleep disruption. Thank you for your response. xx
Glad you liked it. Thanks for putting up with my joke. It's bedtime and I tend to get weird/anxious at bedtime. I never know what the night will bring, so it's understandable that my anxiety would get high.
Ouch, I've heard that that can be a pretty painful syndrome. I'm sorry she has that. Give her a message for me please: Lose the dang phone!
I certainly will give her your message
Maybe she will listen to MinnieMouse more than her mom.
Get a good night's sleep my friend zzzz xx
Let's hope so🤞 I don't know if this will help with Fibromyalgia, but one of the things recommended for RLS is magnesium oil. It's not only good at calming RLS movements, but it does wonders for pain!
Thanks, hon.😊
Thanks MinnieMouse1234
You're welcome, hon😊
"Why We Sleep" by Matthew Walker (talked about above) is one of the books I was going to recommend. The other is "How to Beat Insomnia and Sleep Problems One Step at a Time" by Kristie Anderson
I suffer with pretty bad insomnia, the only thing that works for me is 30mg Mirtazapine, I split the dose over half hour. works a treat
I used to struggle with sleep massively. So I tried making some changes, I put my phone away at a certain time. And I started reading before bed, a couple of chapters and I’m gone 💤💤.
Maybe give reading a go, it helps me👍
