Finding anxiety treatment alternatives

Hi everyone:

Ive been dealing with massive anxiety that comes and goes for a while. I tried meditation, some anxiety apps, and even therapy. My therapist wasn't really helping me that much she just would listen and I would just cry the whole time. I wanted to change therapist but unfortunately my insurance copays are soo high and I cant keep affording therapy. Does anyone have alternative treatments or resources I can find online that helps me to maintain my mental health?? Sometimes I feel Im completely cured and the next day is like worst than ever. I just need to turn off the non stop train of thoughts in my head, It's exhausting to be worried and overwhelmed all the time...ughh helppp

I’m soo sorry my heart goes out to you 💞💞💞I’m interested in finding the same so I’d love others thoughts on this as well! ?? I have heard some have tried cbt(cognitive behavioral therapy) to Help retrain your thoughts kinda rewiring brain pathways that are stuck in same ways of thinking?? I haven’t found a therapist yet though to try this?? But also I have heard good things about certain supplements like amino acids that help the brain and things that boost seratonin like gaba, l -theanime, and others also st.johns wort herb and god healthy fats like fish oil can help-others maybe try researching yourself and finding books I used to read 1 when I was a teen I found in a health store I worked in was called natural highs by Hyla Cass I used to recommend it to customers they found it helpful to learn a bit on this topic!! Hope these ideas could help possibly 💞💞💞

Ive been reading a lot regarding CBT and when I started seeing a therapist I thought this would be her approached and it just wasn't. All she was doing is guessing why do I feel the way I feel, and to be honest if I knew why, I probably wouldn't need therapy. Again, in order to gain access to a good therapist in America I have to wait for an appointment and pay $75 copay per vosit with insurance, and to be honest I can't afford, but Im gonna take a look in supplements that contain amino acids, I never knew the effect on them as serstonin stimulant. Thank you

So sorry you are struggling. Therapy is usually my first choice, but it kind of sounds like you would be a candidate for some medication to help you find some balance. Sometimes therapy is a lot like you described, a safe place to let it all out. Therapy is to guide us on our journey, and we don't always agree with that guidance. Perhaps your therapist felt you needed to have a good cry, that deeper therapy couldn't happen until you let some of those feelings out. I hope you'll consider a doctor appointment to discuss medication, and continue therapy in some form. Prayers for peace, wisdom and guidance.
