Has anyone suffered with palpitations AFTER stopping anti depressant, these started virtually the day I started taking Citalopram, after 2 weeks I stopped taking as I was feeling quite unwell. This was about 2 months ago and am still having daily, frequent palpitations. I am now having to have an ECG, all very concerning.
Palpitations are a normal part of anxiety for me. I have learned to live with them and not give them any undue concern. They come and go as they please and my heart is fine (according to my cardiologist).
Probably unrelated for you, but I had a palpitation issue a couple of years ago and tracked it back to too much caffeine via drinking too much strongly brewed green tea. I was and do take citalopram, though no link was suggested by the docs.
Thanks for your reply, I've reduced my coffee intake and drink VERY weak black tea, have literally just been diagnosed with panic disorder so hopefully with the correct treatment they will become a thing of the past.
Just a tip from someone who has had Panic Disorder since Jan 14, 1973 ( I remember the exact moment, halftime of the Superbowl that year, out of the blue). When you are feeling the most vulnerable from an attack, just remember this. You won't die. You won't lose your mind. What you are worried about won't happen. Once you accept that, the intensity and duration reduces dramatically and some long, slow, deep breaths will send the deomon on its way relatively quickly.
Thanks for your advice and encouragement, it's much appreciated. It's reassuring to know that there are people out there who care about others they don't even know. Thanks again.
