Ugh. Feeling awful again

I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for about 6 weeks, in addition to another anti depressant. It worked for about 2 weeks, then seemed to plateau and now I’m starting to feel as bad as before. I’m sick of struggling just to get through so many days. I’ve usually felt that if I have to work hard for anything, it’s not worth it. I’ve struggled enough and things should come easily. If I have to work at it, any joy vanishes and I don’t want it anymore.

I’ve been taking Wellbutrin for about 5 weeks now and haven’t felt any changes to my anxiety/depression. I had an appointment about my medication today and they actually suggested I go off it since I haven’t felt a difference. Maybe talk to your doctor and let them now how you are feeling. Medications affect everyone so differently!

Yep I contacted my doctor about this and am awaiting for his reply.

Are you going to go on another type of medication? We are so strong; having to go through meds after meds before finding the right one. It doesn’t seem like it though. Is this the first medication you’ve tried?

Oh good! Hopefully they can find the right medication for you. It is really tough, especially when you have been on medication you thought was working. I’ve been on celexa for like 7 years and after upping my dosage this past year I have not felt better. So they just switched me to Zoloft. I’m hoping this will help.... but yes I agree we are strong!

Yes I hope it kicks in for you too! Thanks for your responses. It’s so important to have others we can vent and turn to for support.

Yes definitely! It’s nice to know we are not alone and there are others out there that struggle everyday like I do. It’s not easy, but I do think our anxiety / depression are what makes us unique and special.

Hi Kangaroo. If struggling enough was all it took to banish depression we'd all be free of this ruthless beast. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. The good news is you WILL get well if you hang in there and can get support wherever you can. Even if you don't believe it! I know from personal experience....the waiting is the hardest part.

I had to quit Wellbutrin because it gave me major headaches. I have tried about a dozen combos. Keep trying. We all react differently because we have unique brain chemistry.

I'll take a moment and pray to God for you Alice. That is so hard, what you and so many of us are going through. You are not alone.
