Does Buspirone Help Anyone?

I have been taking 15 mg of buspirone once a day for about 2 months now. I don’t see any improvement. Has anybody had good results with this medicine? My anxiety is exhibited in my waking up every morning around 3:00 feeling panicky. It’s been a long time since I have had a good night’s sleep.

Hi if you have been on it 2 months now would be a good time to go back to your doctor they have to start you on a lower dose to limit side effects and also to see how much you need, it will be gradually increased, hope this helps and wish you well x

I now take 15 mg four times a day and it really helps me but everyone is different. I’d talk to the doc about increasing it and you can decide if it’s the right med for you.

I am only on 2 x 5mg per day. They helped initially with the physical anxiety symptoms but recently I have been taking them so I can try and get some sleep (along with Promethazine, Quetiapine and Mirtazapine ) and I am not having much success. Think I may have to increase the dose.

I was on 15mg once a day for months, and it did help some, took the edge off, but always wore off around mid day.

I saw a new doctor, who also suffers from anxiety, who then advised me that buspirone works better as an emergency "boost" to another medicine. I was weaned off the buspirone and started taking 10mg celexa instead. Total game changer. I still get a little breakthrough anxiety from time to time, and when I do I take a half a dose if the buspirone and generally feel better. ♡
