I think my medication is working!

It could just be a fluke but I just recently had to up my dose of anxiety meds. I always wake up to panic attacks right after I fall asleep, usually really bad ones. For the first time in months I didn't even have to get out of bed, I just laid there and waited for it to be over. I did have to wake my husband up, to which he replied "it's okay there's no reason to be having a panic attack right now" you don't say? 🤣

Just excited. Hopefully it's a step in the right direction to be able to fall asleep like normal again.

Hopefully the increased dose is helping you. What meds are you on? It's quite terrible to have a panic attack every evening. I hope you are doing better.

Busparone. They put me on such a low dose to start with to get used to it. I finally feel like I can think about stuff other than my panic attacks

Only Buspirone. If that is effective for you, it's great! Panic attacks are a very strong reaction. I hope Buspirone alone will work for you. You will soon find out. I had to take pregabalin to help with my panic attacks. Sometimes I also need Xanax if it is really bad.

See I didn't know if an as needed would even work for me, still trying to decide. From the time I wake up in a panic to the time I'm laying down calm again is like 30 minutes. Which is about how long it would take for something to take effect, I think. I don't know what's causing them. My heart rate gets so high and then just slowly comes back down. Panic attacks are weird, especially the ones at night.

It is quite good that it subsides in only 30 minutes. You are right, an as needed me would not work that quickly. It takes at least 30 minutes to get absorbed in the blood stream. Be glad that it goes away so quickly. I know it is still quite unpleasant, but 30 minutes is a quick recovery.
